My husband, mother, and I visited Emma’s this evening for the first time, and I can tell you that the positive feedback given here on Google is accurate. It looks small from the outside but don’t let deter you, I assure you there is ample room inside. The ambiance was warm and inviting with the hostess acknowledging us as soon as we walked in. We were led to a booth (there are tables if you prefer that instead), where our waitress, Jen, immediately came over. She was extremely pleasant and upbeat while she introduced herself and told us about the specials for the day. The menu is full of great choices and Jen was very patient while we decided what we wanted. We finally figured it out…for me, the special of the day, which was a 12oz. Prime Rib, my husband got a ½ rack of ribs, and my mother (bless her heart) orders a cheeseburger 😊
It never occurred to me to take pictures until we were half-done, but the portions were more than generous and to say the food was “good” would be a huge understatement! Phenomenal is more like it, my steak was cooked perfectly, and my husband just raved over the ribs; they had a considerable amount of meat on them, and he said the BBQ sauce was incredible (we found out they make their own). As for mom’s cheeseburger, she loved it saying it was the best one she’s had in a long time. As a bonus, we got home-made dinner rolls that were incredible! There is nothing like fresh warm rolls.
Overall, I highly recommend you visit Emma’s when you are in the Greenwood, DE area…I promise you won’t be disappointed. You just can’t beat a restaurant that is super clean, inviting, has phenomenal food, great staff, and reasonable prices. You get that and more at Emma’s. We will definitely be...
Read moreGood and service is amazing. I absolutely love the owner and the waiting staff I bring my real Service dogs with me when I dine in and they welcome me because my dogs are ligit service dogs that perform tasks for me. They are well behaved and stay under the table without making a sound. They always comment how they don't even know they are there. They are so good. I remind them that's how they should be. They just can't ask what your disability is. Also service dogs never sit in the restaurant seats or in shopping carts. They are to remain on the floor in restaurants, but they can be in slings, backpacks on the owner of under 20lbs. Do your research! Keep your...
Read moreI don't write reveiws often but after last night's experience I must. I have eaten there many times and don't mind a little wait to be seated but last night was a bad experience. We had a party of 7 and the place was busy but alot of tables not being used. There was a couple waiting when we arrived. They said give them a few minutes and they moved a small table over to a larger table to seat us. Then the wait started. After 45 mins. my wife asked if they have forgotten about us and the couple that was standing there. The girl asked what was our name again and looked at the paper that she had written down our names on. During this time about 20+ pepole had left and it was not that busy and alot of empty tables. After my wife had spoke up they did finally seat the couple first and then finally we were seated at the table that was set up earlier. The staff made us feel like why are you hear and we were a bother. The waiteress tried to explain that they only had 2 cooks and running behind in the kitchen. Well what ever happened to being up front with pepole and maybe offer to seat us with that explanation and offering some drinks while we wait or let us make a choice to go somewhere else instead of standing that long. We won't come...
