We tried Romeo’s for the first time today and sadly, it will most definitely be the last.
We wanted to try a new pizza place in the area and honestly, we had high hopes for this place. Some of the pizzas sounded really different and interesting, especially the potato and ranch pizza, which we did actually purchase. We also got an order of cinnamon sticks, the butcher shop pizza, the pepperoni feast pizza and a calzone. The total came out to just over $60 and honestly, what we received is not worth the money.
The ranch/potato/sausage pizza was VERY bland and had literally 3 pieces of sausage on the whole pizza. What a ripoff! Not to mention, not every slice of pizza even had a piece of potato on it either. The onions on it were sickeningly sweet and the rest of the pizza was just flavorless and wet.
The butcher shop pizza was maybe the best thing in the whole order and even that wasn’t the greatest, as it wasn’t until one of our guests bit into something hard when trying this pizza that we decided that it was best to just throw it out. Outside of that isolated incident, the toppings on the butcher shop pizza are low quality, with a ton of dry, microscopic ham cubes thrown on top. The sauce was weirdly sweet, but the crust was soft and the bottom of it was crispy, which was good. Other than that, it wasn’t really all that great and I have had much better pizza toppings at other places in the area.
The pepperoni feast pizza was fine, I guess. I don’t understand how it was considered a “pepperoni feast” seeing as though the amount of tasteless pepperoni on it seemed like just a regular amount on any other pizza. Not to mention $12 for what is basically a regular small pepperoni pizza is down right shameful.
The calzone was literally just bread for the most part and the amount of filling inside of it was very little in comparison to the dough that it was wrapped in. I remember having a better calzone at Chuck E. Cheese back in the early 2000’s at a child’s birthday party.
Last but not least is the cinnamon sticks. I’m not sure what was going on there… In the picture online, they looked soft and were drizzled with icing and honestly, we were excited to try them. What we received was crusty/hard pizza dough coated in a little bit of cinnamon spread with an unopened packet of icing tossed on top. Way to phone it in, guys!
Long story short, we will have to either pawn the remainder of the pizza off on someone else or it will have to go in the trash and that is a shame, honestly. I wish the food was at least worth the price tag that we paid for it or that it at least tasted okay, but the pizza at this location was just really...
Read moreWent to this restaurant because we recently discovered this place on DoorDash and enjoyed the food, well when we got here and went through the drive through we ended up waiting 10 minutes for someone to come to the window but no one came, we honked the horn and still no one came, we ended up going inside to order and after asking the man working there if they used the window he said yes, after telling him we waited for 10 minutes just to order he said sorry and took our order which is going to be another 20 minutes, Ive had a knee and back injury recently and going inside just to order is painful for me. I also have class soon so the wait, drive and eating gives me very little time to get to school
After getting the food it turned out to have a lot of sauce (we asked for extra light sauce maybe he misheard us because he had an earbud in his ear) me and my partner don’t often get pizza so when we do we’d like to have it how we want it and within a reasonable time especially when there are no other customers waiting. The wait is fine, annoying that we have to wait an extra 10 minutes because someone is lazy, but the actual food itself should be how we want it. We can overlook this incident because we did enjoy the food the first 2 times we ordered it through DoorDash (which had no problems with the order) we hope that in the future the food will be made properly and we won’t have to...
Read moreOkay, the thin crust is glorious. Wow the thinness and crispness! The toppings are quality, they're not going to cheat you on bacon. Tbh I think that's a pretty valuable part of their service, you're not going to feel like you were ripped off on your toppings! They're bountiful but not overwhelming. The cheese bread is pretty darn tasty, also not over cheesed! I love love love cheese but let's be real, you can have too much on something. Sometimes that's a mark that's missed, unfortunately. FORTUNATELY, not here. Now that I've laid out some of the great parts, I am gonna explain why I didn't give it five stars... The sauce. The sauce is sweet... I avoid places like Papa John's and pizza hut bc their sauces all taste like there's obviously sugar in them. As a cook I know sugar is an ingredient in pizza sauce and most tomatoes sauces. That being said, you aren't supposed to taste it, it's to balance things out. I love the bread here, the dough is phenomenal, but the sauce really hurts it for me. There's no visible herbs in it, too sweet, just tastes like canned tomato sauce. I think the quality of the food overall is so good, it's a shame to have the flavors dampened by sugary...
