Vibez Bar & Lounge — Restaurant in Greer

First off, let me say I do not write reviews but my experience at Vibez must be shared!

Since being in Greenville on special assignment I was struggling to find a hookah place that was up to my minimum standards. Standards meaning...quality hookah (they have Khalil Mamoon), great selection of sheesha (tobacco), and natural coco coals (NO quicklite). What I found at Vibez was that and more. They even have lotus bowls and specials during the week...plus you can drink! The atmosphere during the week is laid back and the hookah is on point. I have not had the chance to stay through the weekend but can't wait to come by when I do.

But what really sets this place apart from even the best hookah lounges in AZ and Cali is the customer service. The customer service here is A1. Everyone is welcoming and extremely attentive to the customer needs.

Honestly, I wasn't expecting to find a decent hookah bar in the area because I had a horrible experience at the only other lounge in the area the night before. I called the Vibez Ultra lounge number and the owner picked up. I consider myself extremely knowledgable on hookah so I started asking questions given my previous horrible experience at the other lounge. I liked all the answers so I decided to make the trip (20min uber from hotel). I was impressed and this is the only lounge near the Greenville area that will get my business. The next day the owner followed up and asked me how my experience was. I had only GREAT things to say and have been back 5 times in the last 2 weeks.

I paid $400 for a “vip section” and I paid upon arrival because the pictures on the website made it seem very professional and well put together. My party showed up and they had no idea of us coming or the down deposit. They quickly threw a section together and called it a day. Serving time was super slow. We waited 30 min for waters , I’d say 45 minutes before we actually got the bottle for the section. We ran out of pineapple juice and the server never came back to bring us more for the rest of our stay, we had to send people from our party to go retrieve things the server promised to bring us. The music was more for older people, older southern music. Which is fine! However it was the whole night where they didn’t play anything updated, we gave the dj (Kurious George) money and requested songs - he played them for 30 seconds each and it went back to the older music. There was fighting between workers and customers , servers were intoxicated and I can’t say for sure if it was alcohol due to the excessive shaking. I walked out a side door to make sure a friend of mine made it to her Uber ok and the “security” guard blew a gasket and put his hands on me removing me from the door and telling me I can’t hold the door open even though like I said I was just trying to make sure my friend made it to her ride safely. Overall was not worth the $400. Hookah were outdated and coal wouldn’t get hot so we couldn’t enjoy that either. For the experience we had I would say it’s worth about $150. IF THAT. I’ve been to Vibez a few time and the experience is always different. For starters the last time, literally five minutes after being seated I was told that they have a 2 hour limit on tables. After two hours we had to leave the table but we free to roam the rest of the building. We stayed for a little over three hours and the place was busy but since we weren’t buying drinks constantly, our serve told us that they had a line outside the door and need our table to accommodate they guest. At that time we had order another hookah but couldn’t really enjoy it cause we had to stand up and use it. One of my friends went out side to her car to see how long the line was outside and came back and say that nobody was outside. So our server intentionally lied to us and made us get up from our table. Don’t appreciate being treated like that or lied to like that. Hookah is very expensive out that there for just one flavor. They recently did some renovations but all they really did was get rid of the carpet and added vinyl flooring. They also need to upgrade they vip section seating. It could be better as well.
