Let me say that we have ordered Food from this Chinese Takeout Restaurant many times over the past 10 years or so. Not because of the quality of the food which is average. But for convenience due to the close proximity to our home. The food is hit or miss. Average @ best. Their food quality & recipes have changed from time to time but the food was fair until last evening. The weather was nasty last night & we didn't feel like driving far. So like many other occasions, Great Wall on Wade Hampton Ave was our choice. We only order 4 familiar items. Items we felt were some of their better dishes. Pork Fried Rice, Wonton Soup, Chicken on a Stick and Moo Shu Pork. Aside from the Wonton soup which was bland but edible. The other items were not fit for consumption. The Chicken on a stick (we've had it before and liked it) was actually so over cooked it came out of the Bag BLACK! I tried it. Burnt, with the aroma and flavor of Charcoal. The dish had been severely overcooked. Well past the point to be saved by any sauces. It should have never been served to a customer. Especially a customer who has spent as much $$ in the Restaurant as myself. (I usually order for 6-9 people @ a time) The Pork Fried Rice was even more disappointing if that's even possible. I opened the QT container and spooned some into my bowl. RICE! Light Brown Rice! NOT ONE PIECE OF PORK! No Onion of any kind! Literally Nothing but some rice and soy sauce. I dont believe it was even fried in a wok! It surely wasn't fried @ all. NO FLAVOR! I paid for Pork Fried Rice and I got White Rice and Soy Sauce! How does this happen by accident? IMO it doesn't. Then came the Moo Shu Pork. This looked like something that came out of a can or was sitting around for several days. I refused to eat it fearing some unwanted consequences. We have had some OK meals from this Restaurant and Some not very good meals from this Restaurant. But last night was the last straw. I feel as if they dont even care about their customers. Not when you purposely serve food looking and tasting like the food I paid for. My $$ was completely wasted because the value I received was not a good faith effort. I will not be frequenting this establishment again. I'm sure they will not miss the several Hundred $$ I spend every yr but @ least I know I'm not throwing my $$ away to an...
Read moreItalia... I ordered from this restaurant minimum twice a month for years. They had amazing food, a witty and conversational Delivery Man, hot food, great tasting, great prices, the perfect Chinese takeout delivery restaurant. For some reason, for the last 4 or 5 months, they do not deliver anymore. They send coupons out that say delivery within 3 miles, they have ads listed on Google saying they even deliver! When in reality they do not. It seems such a petty thing to write a review about, but what made me do it was calling and politely asking them if they ever were going to deliver again, whatever wave of people working tonight have absolutely just an abysmal grasp on the English language... So he said, we no deliver anymore. I said, well you do deliver you just don't have a delivery man, and I was wondering if you guys were ever going to get another one, he said no. I realize it's a very trivial thing to write a review about, but I do have reason. I am moving out of the state tomorrow and my car is currently on a car trailer in my driveway ready to be towed behind my U-Haul tomorrow. My refrigerator all the cabinets, everything is packed, and I wanted to have my favorite Chinese food from one of my favorite restaurants on my last night, and I can't. Please stop telling people you guys deliver, because you don't. Please stop making people...
Read moreFood is not bad, BUT I found something very interesting (and wish I would have known this prior to eating there). I just begin a Non-Pork/Beef regimen; decided to visit and placed an order for a Shrimp & Broccoli Combo. I asked could they substitute the PORK in the fried rice with an EGG (1). I was informed it was $0.50 cents. I was shocked because how can 1-egg cost more than Pork? I was informed ‘THEY PRE-COOK the PORK FRIED RICE”. I was horrified to know: “I was never eating freshly cooked fried rice” and then I wondered “How LONG does that rice (with PORK) sit there (meat gets rank after awhile), has a fly came and took a seat on it from time to time, do they refrigerate left over rice and most importantly “How was I deceived, seeing them ACT like they are cooking fresh rice”. And I'm going to GIVE The "IF FACTOR" (What type of meat they are using that, 1-egg cost more than) Yes, I’m very particular about the food I consume; especially from Chinese Restaurants (we all seen the meat videos a least once). Yes, places like Panda have pre-cooked rice, BUT a least it's NOT hidden and the consumer can visibly see what their getting/ the freshness. I said “No thank you” & I WILL NEVER Order...
