CC's Coffee House — Restaurant in Gretna

I’ve been a loyal customer at CC's Coffee in Gretna for about a year because I believe in supporting local businesses. However, I’ve encountered ongoing issues with how my espresso is prepared. I order a five-shot espresso with three scoops of milk foam, and several times I’ve had to remind the barista to pull fresh, hot shots. Unfortunately, they often use shots that have been sitting premade, resulting in lukewarm coffee.

Today, December 2, 2024, at 9:30 AM, I specifically asked the same barista to ensure my shots were pulled fresh, as the last three times she made my coffee, it was barely warm. Sadly, when I got to my car, the coffee was once again lukewarm. The barista seemed indifferent and didn’t care about my request. Her attitude comes across as miserable, as if she doesn’t want to be there.

Additionally, I’ve noticed that many of the employees at this location often appear unhappy and unmotivated, which affects the overall experience. I hope the owner considers hiring staff who genuinely want to work and can serve customers with a positive attitude.

This is my first review of this CC's location. As a loyal customer, I hope the owner and manager take notice. Lukewarm espresso on a chilly 50° morning isn’t acceptable, especially when customers voice their preferences.

This is a fantastic little independent coffee shop. The place is bright and clean, well decorated, and the owner works here. Every customer gets a personal greeting and a genuine smile. It has a drive-thru and there’s plenty of seating, some soft chairs and several tables, one perfectly suited for a group, with many outlets in the center for tech. I ordered a latte that is perfect, not all foam like I get from chains. The chocolate croissant reminded me of pastries I’ve had in Europe - buttery but not greasy, with high-quality dark chocolate that wasn’t ruined by lots of refined sugar. If I could give six stars for atmosphere, they would get six stars. The Baristas here know their products to the smallest detail; you can tell from the way they you questions about your order. They laugh and joke with customers but not at the expense of their work. They laugh WHILE working, not INSTEAD of working. If there was an Academy Awards for small businesses, this one would...

In trying to support Louisiana based businesses or franchises, CC's is one of my top 3 coffee shops! I am a stroke survivor and cannot drive, but my friends enjoy taking me to have a coffee and a muffin (I recommend the cranberry-orange). There is also a diverse food menu. The employees are an asset to the company and are engaging and helpful. There are a variety of coffee blends, the staple being Communities coffee and chicory. Oh, and coffee refills are free!
