Huey P's Pizzeria and Daiquiris — Restaurant in Gretna

We live in Old Algiers and often bike the levee. Today we went to Huey P's at my 13 year old's recommendation. When we arrived the restaurant was about 1/3 full, but there was not a clean table to sit at. We opted to take the least dirty table. When the server arrived I asked for a damp clothe, but she insisted on taking our drink orders. She returned with silverware and placed it on the dirty table. She returned with drinks and asked if we were ready to order. I reminded her we needed a damp clothe to clean the table. She returned with a clothe and proceeded to wipe around all of the drink cups, the silverware and plates. I finally moved everything from one side of the table, took a handful of napkins to the bathroom to dampen them and then cleaned the table thoroughly myself.

The pizza was okay, and the highlight for me was the frozen scooners of beer which reminded me of some northern pizza joints I used to go to when I lived in the DC/Maryland area. I will most likely return, since it is my daughters favorite pizza in NOLA...

My wife ordered pizza over the phone. When we arrived, around 1:30 pm on Saturday afternoon, there was only three people sitting together eating. My wife and I stood at the counter for 10 minutes before someone came to the counter and said someone will be with you shortly. That same person proceeded to go in the back and then returned to the counter to answer the phone. She then went into the back once again came back to the phone talk and then leave again. She returned and finally asked can she help us. It was a total of about 17 minutes since we arrived and stood at the counter and even the other patrons kept turning around to see what was going on. This type of service is unacceptable! I felt as though my business was unwelcome here. I ordered a daiquiri and paid for my F&B and left wondering if I should ever patronize this...

I’ve been meaning to write this review for a while now. I went here a couple weeks ago with my Husband and two kids looking for a nice dinner only for the night to be unbearable. Our server, Caitlyn I believe was her name, was one of the most unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful server waitress Whatever she was. Completely ignoring me and my family to goof off with other teenage coworkers it looked like. Having a nice time laughing while we stared waiting for her to even acknowledge my family and I. Took 10 Minutes to even get our drinks to us. We waited almost 30 minutes to receive our check too. My daughter hadn’t eaten since her summer camp that afternoon and had to wait over an hour Plus for food. I pray to God the next time we come, If we even come back, that we will have a...
