Huckleberry's Breakfast & Lunch — Restaurant in Gridley

I ordered 4 Full size biscuits and gravy. I sent my daughter to get the food and meet us at the park to have breakfast.when she showed up she had 4 Biscuits thrown in a grocery bag and 2 small water cups full of cold gravy... so I called in and talked to a manager she said they were out of To Go containers so they had to give it to us like that. I expressed my disappointment and they agreed to refund the money or "put my name on a list" and get it remade for free at a later date, so I figured I would give them another try and opted for the next round of Biscuits and gravy on them, I called back a week or 2 later and they acted like they had no clue what I was talking about, what a shame.. blackbear was a honest establishment with amazing food, unfortunately my first experience with Huckleberry's will...

I'm sorry this was one of my favorite places for breakfast and lunch. I don't go often as I live elsewhere but whenever near Gridley stop in for a bite. Not sure what happened today. Very busy this late morning and so many people eating. Because of all the chatter the waitress had to speak louder and louder I finally had to move into the dining room to get away from the noise. Was seated at a dirty table, no dishes but had not been wiped down and the waitress did not offer to wipe it down. Coffee luke warm and utensils were not clean! Food was ok but not the usual quality. The end of the meal came after I found hair in the container of syrup! Y'all can do better than that. I'll try again...

My husband & I went here on Valentines Day. The parking lot was packed & we figured we might have to sit & wait for a bit before we got a table, but they still had several tables & booths open & we were seated immediately. The decor is adorably rustic from the mason jars they serve you water & ice tea in to the metal pipe mounted on a piece of wood with a roll of brown paper towels mounted on it on every table. The food is Louisiana style & fantastic! Plenty of food! The benigets are melt in you mouth delicious! You have got to try their huckleberry muffins & they make the biggest biscuits I have ever seen! We both left very happy customers & my husband wants to go back many, many...
