âMcFlappyBoxâ- Remember the joy of ice cream growing up? The sound of the little ice cream truck coming down the street and running out there with your friends to get one of your favorite frozen summer treats? Timeless memories. Heck, Iâd imagine every memory we have of eating ICE CREAM is a cherished one. What could possibly be wrong with Ice Cream?
I felt that very same thing up until this day. Sadly, whatâs worseâŚseeing the faces of my 3 littles when their ICE CREAM adventure took a sharp detour.
How so you may be asking yourself. I mean, what could be so wrong as to turn an ICE CREAM adventure into an experience that may just have shifted their complete outlook on ice cream foreverâŚ
How about ordering 3 tasty McFlurryâs, and instead, youâre handed, out the drive through window, 3 Chinese Takeout boxes with flappy lids of, what was supposed to be, McFlurrys.
Mind you, these are for KIDSâŚso, as you can imagine, ice cream with NO LIDS, and no way to close them, so, youâre left with flimsy boxed melty ice cream going down the roadâŚwith kids. OhâŚtheâŚjoy.
I must admit, I am excited about McDonalds initiative theyâre taking to save money by eliminating the much nicer experience of a sturdy cup + lid opting for whatever this abomination is instead. Iâm excited to see all the other cost cutting initiatives they have planned as well.
Perhaps, instead of ketchup packets, they can just squirt ketchup into our hands at the drive through as well? Hmmm, think of the money that could be saved serving our foodâŚwithout wrappers at all! Maybe for the morning crowd, how about some Hot Coffee in a bag? đ¤ˇđťââď¸ HUGE savings!
You know, the more I write the more I truly am excited to see what the future holds. Today, McDonalds, a place that held fond memories for generations of kidsâŚhas stolen that joy from my littles. Today, sadly, that generational experience of ice cream joy, has been lost.
I would have shared this experience sooner, but had to spend time cleaning out the backseat from all the melted drippy non-eaten (because even kids know this is a terrible experience) ice creamâish from my vehicleâŚthen wash my hands, go get my kiddos some real ice cream so they didnât have to and their day full of disappointment and confusion as their little minds tried to process ice cream now being a non-joyous experience.
Sad, isnât it, that we all have just become so used to being disappointed by diminishing experiences in life that someone, somewhere, in McDonalds leadership, decided to even ruin, what most of us thought could never be ruinedâŚice cream.

   Read moreI wish I could give no stars to this place....I have no idea how they're still in business...I went through the drive thru, my order wasn't right, my sweet tea was unsweetened, I tried to tell the lady at the window that it wasn't sweet, and she yelled at me saying "IT IS SWEET!" I politely told her it wasn't and I asked to speak to the manager....Manager comes to the window, I explained what happened but she still didn't do anything... I asked for a refund and the manager tells me to come inside...my partner went in and asked for the refund, he was recording for his records but she got mad about that and asked him to stop.....he did but she was still hesitant....she played games first saying "let me see the receipt" then asked for the card so he comes back out to get the card from me and still no refund....finally I come in and she's stalling the whole time...so my guy says why are you stalling? It's 2023 it's a POS system it doesn't take that long...so she yells and says "YES IT DOES" meanwhile the whole time she's on the phone with the police....She called the police on him saying he was aggressive....Aggressive just for asking for a refund?? You called the police on us cause we're black!!!! WTH???? Beware they don't have name tags and won't give their names! They don't give names because they want to get away with doing stuff to people and not be held accountable....Avoid this place at all causes.....ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE BLACK....THEY'RE...
   Read moreAverage and very busy. Unfortunately staff needs to be trained alittle better for handling "Karen's" because it was lunch rush the shift manager and another was very short with a lady. " Theres no sweet tea." Karen. Mc" yes " no.... There isn't any SWEET TEA. KAREN. mc speaks in Spanish to shift manager. Karen is angered. " I want sweet tea this isn't sweet enough" SF there is sweeteners by the lids and straws. Karen Bell proclaims that there isn't any tea at all. Fill my cup up with sweet tea and ice. Shift manager tells the other lady to just give her sweet tea in Spanish and she literally fills the cup with sweet tea. . Now here's the employees speaking Spanish again and sees her cup full of sweet tea and no ice and is enraged. At this point the employees tactic is to ignore her and hope she goes away
I'm all for ethnic diversity in the workplace and fair opportunity but when the only two people that speak fluent English are the shift manager and the drive-thru you create a handicap where the manager is doing it quadruple the work.
Me while my poor strawberry banana smoothie was melting on the bottom by the food warmer for some reason.
This review will probably fall on deaf ears because a high percentage of their potential customers will never come through that area ever again in their life and it will never affect...
