I really wish I could give 0 stars for the way we were just treated. We ate and our conversation went over 2 hours. We were asked to leave because we had been there too long and they needed our parking space. We asked to speak to the manager because this made us feel unwelcome to come, dine, fellowship and have a good experience. He confirmed that this was the request. We did not use the restaurant lot to park and the restaurant had plenty seating room which we brought to the manager “John” attention. He kept saying we were done eating “a long time ago” and that they needed parking space so they can turn over a profit. He didn’t listen to our concerns, only interrupted and interjected to bring up his perspective from a business standpoint. Failing to see the customer viewpoint. As a HR professional, with a Masters in Business, I know that “daily” numbers, or how much money you bring in for a day are only PART of business revenue. You also need those customers to return and spread good word (reputation) about their experience. Had we actually taken parking space from prospective customers and the seating was at capacity, we would have had no problem leaving. John proceeded to say, as he finished checking us out, “There’s a Starbucks down the street guys, stay there all day if you want”. We will never return and we will inform our friends and family or our experience as well. Had he done proper investigation he would have found that we were not preventing other customers from coming. And had he properly communicated and listened to our concerns, he would not have lost the potential of future business. As members of this community, with influence as business and education professionals, the potential of business was sabotaged by this experience. We’d enjoyed our waitress who was so sweet and the rest of our experience only to end on such an ugly and unprofessional note. As I sit in my car down the street from the restaurant (which is where I parked) I am watching customers park and walk in with no issue. The ignorance and lack of professionalism of John and whomever he speaks for is unfortunate and...
Read moreJust go here. Theresa was our host for brunch and everything was fast and perfect. We tried this place after finding out it was a 90 minute wait at Original on a Saturday at noon. Called ahead here and were told it was a 15 minute wait, arrived within ten minutes and there was zero wait. We sat at a large, clean, well-stocked booth and had water then coffee in front of us immediately. It didn't feel cramped at all though there were many tables seated.
The menu was overwhelming at first: there are so many choices for crepes, french toast, waffles, and pancakes. We ended up doing an order of French toast (regular and Oreo) plus bacon and eggs for both of us. The ornate masterpieces that came out in under ten minutes were phenomenal. I wish I'd taken a picture before eating but I normally never take pictures of my food.
I normally go savory before sweet but the Oreo French Toast is somehow both. The flavor was more complex than I was expecting and not overly sweet. Sumptuous. The bacon and eggs were great quality and well prepared. The service was so fast, friendly, and competent - they must have a really strong system down. AND THE PRICES. People easily pay 3x for similar food with at spots with a more limited menu and are happy to pay it for what they get. A small gratuity was added onto the bill automatically (perhaps the reason this place didn't seem woefully understaffed like many right now). It was just adults for us today but I checked out the kids menu and I think everything was $4-5.
I would trust anything off of their menu. The chicken and waffles looked divine and the fruit fresh and well sourced. I would also be willing to be more adventurous here due to the trust established with the Oreo...
Read more3rd updated review as this place became my kid's favorite joint. I have mixed feelings about Cracked Egg, as THE FOOD IS ALWAYS GOOD, but the quality of service seem to be hit or miss. I'm updating my review because I literally order from here every week (mainly because of my kid, and also because my mom fell in love with their "fluffy pancakes"). Again, the food is tasty! So far, I've ordered the Chicken and Waffles w/ lemon pepper, the Berry Blintz Waffles (my go-to), the waffles with fruit and Nutella (can't remember the name), my kid always orders the Early Morning Breakfast, and my mom also orders the E.M.B. with a side of pancakes. They also have a posted sign now about the automatic gratuity!
Previous updated review: I just left here from picking up a CARRY-OUT. I can't describe how thoroughly appalled I am about the dishonest cashier. This is my 5th time eating here, and absolute last as well. Outside of today, I ordered the same thing everytime, but yet my bill has been different each time. The only difference today was I ordered a skillet opposed to the usual waffle, and ordered 4 eggs with the kids breakfast. Not only did they not give me the 4 eggs I paid for, each time I ordered it's one less sausage, and the biggest thing Adrianna charged me for DINE IN for a carry-out, so she could get the automatic gratuity. It's not about the money, it's the principle. CONSUMER BEWARE TO NOT GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR!!!
The food was really good! I ordered the Berry Blintz Waffle. My kid ordered one of the breakfast combos, and exchanged the hashbrown for pancakes! The eggs were a little over cooked, but...
