POPS BOIL N GEAUX — Restaurant in Groves

I’ve visited twice, 2 Saturdays in a row. Steady stream of people coming in, takeout and dine-in, both times. 🦞 🦀 🦐 The first time I had crawfish (spicy) and crabs, and both were REALLY good. The crawfish were not overcooked and therefore, easy to peel. That’s a biggie for me! The spice level was enough to call it spicy but not painful. The boil water was flavorful but not overly salty. The crabs were big and meaty, not difficult to unshell. I had a garlic butter dipping sauce that was really tasty. My husband said the crawfish sauce had good flavor.

The second time I had crawfish (spicy) and husband had shrimp. The crawfish were the same amazing quality as the first time. We love a consistent queen! 💅🏽 Husband said the shrimp were kinda difficult to peel.

We spoke with the chef. He said he drives to Louisiana every day to pick up a new fresh batch of seafood. 💕

As we walked in an older gentleman behind the counter welcomed us, nice. One younger gentlemen sitting behind the cash register said nothing also the younger gentleman leaning against the counter at the cash register said nothing. When I started asking questions about the menu they acted like they did not understand what I was saying so I started saying it slower for them and all they could do was laugh at me, I could not even get an order in.
