The place itself looks inviting, and as if it’s well kept. We had high hopes. The furniture is updated and modern. We unfortunately didn’t have the experience we were hoping for with the entire ambiance and menu prices. When we arrived we sadly couldn’t stop the flies from bombarding us the entire dinner with a couple of them boldly landing on our faces, food and straws. Aye, mama.. we ordered fried fish fillets for appetizers they were fresh, hot and tasted pretty good just needed a little salt. Dipping sauces were good.
We ordered for main Entrees. Two Fillet Fish, fresh lobster, a Surf and Turf, and spicy Camarones in sauce. The Camarones had not much flavor to it, both fish dishes were extremely tough they tasted like plastic due to being over cooked, felt bad wasting food so we tried to eat it.
The lobster was overdone and rubbery but wasn’t going to waste ring the price it was for an entire pound of it, so had to ask for butter on the side to help it go down. If I was an owner, I would be frustrated this place has such potential but the execution just wasn’t there, at all with the food especially for the price. The steak was good and the only thing that was descent out of what we ordered. The mushroom sauce was okay, a bit too much wine or didn’t let it cook down long enough.
The mixed drink was good, and the Maracuya Juice was sweet. I personally wouldn’t be retuning back to the spot nor would recommend it for anyone I know...
Read moreBy far the best lunch!! What a gem!! You MUST go!! I went here with 3 other women while on a girls trip and it was so worth it. We visited Playa La Jungla and stopped by here for lunch right after. The food, drinks, and service were amazing. It was a Monday around 2pm so there weren’t many people there but I’m sure its busy on weekends/dinner time. I had a red snapper and it was one of the best I’ve ever had! The other ladies loved their entrees too (one had the red snapper, the other a seafood salad, and the other had churrasco with rice & beans). Three of us had their sangria and it was to die for (we were told they have a special recipe and made in house) and one of us had a piña colada that my girlfriend loved as well. Unfortunately we didn’t have any time for dessert but I’m sure its would’ve been just as great. Our waiter and the restaurant manager were also very welcoming and hospitable! We were recommended this place by one of the locals and we’re so happy we went. Looking forward to going again in the future when we’re...
Read moreIt's a beautiful inside and out. But looks can be deceiving. The dining room was hot. The AC felt like it was not working. There were flies on our table. That's a big no-no for me. The server took our order and brought our drinks. I asked for water with lime and ice. Not once did my water taste cold. Now for the food. I will only rate what I had to eat. I ordered 2 shrimp empanadas and a plain mofongo. The mofongo had a mild taste, not garlicky that I've had before. The shrimp empanadas had no taste. Made with a red sauce that had no flavor at all. The dough was a little flakey but no flavor. My son had pork chop Khan Khan. I enjoyed the small piece he gave me. My husband had conch mofongo. The onions from his dish were good. The server asked if something was wrong because he left 1/2 of his meal on his plate. My husband joked with him about his commitment. My hubby looks like he eats a lot but he doesn't. He asked me if I received mofongo I said yes. It looked like a kid's meal. I would not recommend...
