Bufalina — Restaurant in Guilford

First, I should note that the pizza was excellent as always. I’ve been coming to this place on and off for almost ten years at this point, and the pizza is consistently excellent, so this review in no way should be construed as maligning the pizza. We came to eat here on a Saturday night, after having made a reservation for six o’clock. We came on time, sat right down. Great. We were ready to order pretty quickly, however nobody came to the table. For almost thirty minutes, we tried to order in vain. By the time we got our drinks, we had been sitting at the table for well over a half an hour. That’s fine though. It was Saturday, pretty busy. These things happen. Eventually, after about an hour, we got our pizza. Everyone way enjoying themselves, having drinks, eating. We got another round of drinks. At this point, we wanted to get the Nutella dessert pie, which is always delicious. So I asked the waitress, when I was finally able to get her attention, only to be told that they were “out of it for the evening.” Two people in the party still had relatively full drinks when, a few moments later, another staff member came and unceremoniously kicked us off the table for another reservation. After having made us wait a half an hour to order. When two members of our party still had full drinks, which were paid for in real, hard cash. I’ve worked in many restaurants over the years, and kicking a table out with drinks they have already paid for is genuinely a bush league move. Anyway, I could overlook even this, but the fact that the waitress lied and said they were out of Nutella pie, and got her buddy to come kick us out right after that is what really bothered me the most. I want to start off by saying that we were extremely loyal customers to this place until we discovered that the people who own the place and work there do not care about the customer experience. I cannot even put into words how awful we were treated after already building rapport with the staff. We love their pizza so we used to go every week. We will never return, however, after being treated the worst I have ever experienced.

One night they were in the weeds and got the food out to us later than normal. While we were still eating, they tried to kick us out of the restaurant, becasue another reservation was waiting. We never received any apology or acknowledgement of their wrong doing. We decided to give it another try the following week in the hopes that we would have a better experience. We were actually told by the owner on the phone to find a different pizza place when we tried to make the reservation. They told us we gave them issues and they don't need our business. I don't understand what issues we caused other than giving them our very loyal service. Makes no sense and the conversation was odd. I understand restaurants have to keep to a schedule, but I have never been told I have to leave while I am still eating. It was UNBELIEVABLE, especially for a place that we frequented so often.

It's such a shame becasue I had some great experiences there, but I will never support a restaurant that treats customers that way. We have brought multiple people to this restaurant and used to rave about it. Never again! Customers deserve so much better. I'm actually quite hurt by how...

Highly overrated! Stopped in after seeing rave reviews about the place with my girlfriend. Small hole-in-the-wall place only 3 parking spots in a real tight looking in a shared lot. Was about 7 PM there were a few people milling around inside definitely not packed on a Thursday night there were empty tables and spots to sit at the counter when this snooty young waitress announced as we came in the door, "Do you have reservations?" I responded, "No" to which she told us we could get take out but they were expecting a large party later. I told her, "We're Outta Here!" and left. Drove another few miles down the road and had dinner at, "Friends & Company." It was great! Was greeted at the door, waitress hung our coats up next to our table immediately bringing us bread, accommodated us all the way and beyond. We couldn't have been treated better. Bufalina better get over themselves they've got to be kidding they must think they're like one of those Brooklyn pizzerias that has lines waiting to get in around the corner by the Manhattan Bridge?
