this was the first and last time i will ever dine at blue dog bistro. my cousins and i decided to get brunch as a party of six. foodwise, everything was decent: HOWEVER, it is what happened after that made the experience scummy. we decided to pay with one card, so when we gave the waitress the card, she came back with a receipt that only had the total on it and NOT the itemized receipt. we asked for the itemized receipt, but the waitress told us that the manager would come around and give it to us. sounds reasonable. this took about 15 minutes so we went ahead and signed the credit card receipt. we never got the itemized receipt until we were about to leave so we didnt realize that we were charged gratuity, which was fine. had we known we were charged grat, we would not have tipped the additional 20% on top of it. nowhere on the menus or anywhere in the restaurant did they mention gratuity. the waitress herself never mentioned the gratuity. when we called them back to rectify this error, they gave us the runaround. its been over a week and all we have gotten from both the manager AND owner were dismissive responses. in fact, once we got into contact with the owner, he threw an attitude and said “i dont work here very often. i am a business owner. i am very busy.” we have sent emails and made multiple calls and each time they said they would get back to us and haven’t. anyway, this was an entirely sour experience and these people only...

Well, we got on the list to wait for food. The attendant seemed overwhelmed and made the joke “Well, the wait might be 15 minutes or 20 or maybe even 35 minutes” as if that was funny. She also seemed annoyed there were so many people there waiting and kept rolling her eyes and saying “I just don’t care anymore”. Overall, first impression wasn’t good. Especially when you have customers around.
We got there at 1125am. We got seated at 1155am. 30 minute wait. Fine. It’s a busy sunday. Our waiter came and got us drinks and took our order. He never came to refill our drinks, I actually had to go to the bar to ask him for refills myself. Someone else delivered our food. The food took another 35 minutes to be delivered….we only got pancakes, eggs, bacon and potato hash.
Service was subpar. Especially for food that is not exactly, cheap. We saw our waiter 3 times. Once to place an order, 2nd time because I found him and had to ask for refills, and lastly because he brought us our check.
Overall, because of the subpar service I won’t come back. I’d rather go to Cracker Barrel. It’s cheaper and the service is always good.
Pros: the food
Cons: the wait, the service, the atmosphere, the...
Read moreI love Blue Dog — I’ve NEVER had a bad experience with any of the food, coffee, drinks, or service! Always a joy to go. It’s a bit of a higher price point, but it’s completely worth it. They have vegan and gluten-free options (and other stuff that I can’t remember, but you get the picture — really inclusive options for other dietary needs). Even when they’re busy, the wait times are super reasonable. And the atmosphere is so cute!! The seats were comfy, and all the art and decorations are precious. Last time I went, we sat at the bar, and it was the same level of comfort! This place is just so detail-oriented and so perfect. And can we get a round of applause for Allen??? Absolutely stellar service!! He was so personable, so cheerful, and so funny. Made my day! The already amazing experience was even better because of him!! Everyone is always so smiley and so nice as soon as you step in the door! Amazing service all the way around. I wish I could...
