I have been to this place before, but I wanted to go with my husband because I thought the atmosphere was pretty cool.
First off, there are barely any choices for people who can't eat, or don't like seafood. We ordered 2 different meals to share, the fried chicken club and the burger with a spicy sausage patty on top.
They bring our food, and my husband and I just give each other a look. The burger was TINY! It was the size of a burger from a kids meal, but with a lots of lettuce to make it look bigger. The burger and sausage patty we insanely thin, I've never seen nothing like it. With the two patties together, it was probably a third of the thicness of a normal burger elsewhere. It was kind of shocking to see how small this "burger" was.
Then we each take a bite of a french fry, I was like nope. They were cold, soggy and had no potato left inside them., the waitress did bring us a fresh order of fries, which were much better!
Now this brings us to the fried chicken club sandwich, what a disaster! This was my second time ordering this. The first time it did taste good, but the chicken covered only half.the sandwich, so i thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, and give it another try. Big, big mistake. Not only was the piece of chicken ridiculously small, it only covered a third of the sandwich, which is being generous, but it was so overcooked, it was hard to bite into. My husband managed to eat most of his half, I on the other hand, had one small bite of chicken that was actually edible. The rest I couldn't even get my teeth through. I literally took a pice of the chicken and was knocking on my plate with it, it was hard as a rock.
As we got in the car, my husband said, "That place was terrible." He worked in restaurants for many years as a cook, and said the cook had no business sending out a sandwich with 1.a piece of meat so very undersized for the sandwich it was on, 2. overcooking the meat til it was basically inedible. Definitely need some new cooks.
I can't even say, well they were busy, because it was us, and a total of 5 other people in the whole restaurant. Don't waste your time...
Read moreUPDATE: Visited again last night. Hardly anyone there, and yet it took about 5 min before anyone greeted us. The hostess was in the bathroom, I thought she was attending to it. But when I went in to use the bathroom after being seated, there wasn't any toilet paper in either stall, and the sink area was completely covered with water. After being seated, it took another almost 10 minutes before a server came. The food came out cold, all of it. Couldn't understand because there were maybe two tables beside us in the whole place. Seems like every time we come, the place is getting worse. Last night was the final straw. I don't go out and expect to get cold food. I shouldn't have to tell someone that or the bathroom needs attention. Where is management, and who is expediting orders. You have an awesome venue, but you can't just rely on your location. We're through giving you our money.
Seated promptly and with a smile. Kiki our server, was friendly and knowledgeable on the menu items. The food was good. Next time, I will try some of the specialty cocktails. There are a couple of kinks to work out since it was their first week opening, but overerall great atmosphere , family friendly, great staff and management, and lovely views. There is plenty of parking too, for boats also. Handicap ramp and parking. We will be back for certain. UPDATE WE WENT BACK FOR TACO TUESDAY WITH A FRIEND. TACOS WERE 3$ MARGARITAS WERE 4$ WE ORDERED 3 DIFFERENT TYPES OF TACOS AND THEY WERE ALL good I ESPECIALLY LIKED THE JERK SHRIMP TACO. MARGARITAS WERE SMALL BUT VERY TASTY. STACY (SUPERWOMAN) WAS OUR SERVER AND SHE WAS FANTASTIC AND FUN. SHE KEPT THE MAGGIES FLOWING. GREAT VIEWS BOTH UPSTAIRS AND DOWNSTAIRS, THERE'S A DOCK FOR BOATERS TO PULL UP AND GET OUT TO ENJOY. THEY HAVE A GREAT SELECTION OF DAIQUIRIS AND LOTS OF DIFFERENT SIZES EVEN A GALLON IF YOU'D LIKE. MY NEW...
Read moreMixed reaction, but mostly positive! I was a bit late so never got a menu, though it seemed quite creative 😊 I’ll have to spend some time looking closer if we come back. My meal was not out til 15 minutes or so after everyone else’s, but I wasn’t in a rush. Flavor was excellent! I really liked my meal (variety of tacos) – but we all were curious, is the jerk chicken meant to be served cold? Still tasted good, was just a shock as the meat temp for all our jerk tacos seemed not like it was accidentally served “not-hot” but rather just taken from a refrigerator. I did watch my mom’s drink sit sit sit sit sit at the bar (not knowing it was hers) until ice was all melted and we were about to cash out. We got other drinks in that time at the same well so I just assumed hers was never rung in.
It wasn’t busy this evening (5/30), so perhaps just some service training could make an enormous difference. Our serve sincerely apologized many times but continued to make the same mistakes.
Yard games are a great concept! Kept both adults and kids entertained (and children gladly off the tablets!). The ringlight/selfie stream engaged all of our party too – very neat! The view over the water from pretty much any given point in the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. I hear there’s great live music too, and brunch on the weekends.
Lots going on and lots of possibility! Best wishes to...
