Came to Hector’s with a large family of 8 plus a child. We called ahead and they took our reservation on a busy Friday night.
The menu has your standard Tex Mex offerings. We all found the food to be amazing! The portions were large and the prices were dirt cheap. I ordered a enchilada platter where I got to customize the filling, as well as the choice of sauce. It came with rice and refried beans. The margaritas were well made!
The highlight was the staff. Single handily a young girl took orders for our whole table, answered all the questions we had, was very friendly, brought us more chips, multiple types of salsa, etc. She was amazing!
Parking is available in a large lot outside. We also discovered Hectors not only has a large front dining room, but a huge bar and back dining room as well.
My only complaint were the salsa that came with the chips. My family came from all over the US and none of us liked it. We tried the tomatillo type as well. We ended up just eating the chips with...
Read moreI seriously do not get the hype for this place. We've been eager to try it out because the parking lot is always so full. We took that as a sign that this place was Tex-Mex heaven. We finally caught them on a slow night and were excited to finally try it out. First, the place is really small and very dimly lit. The chips had a really weird texture and the salsa was probably one of the worst compared to other tex-mex restaurants in the area. Their queso is your standard Velveeta type consistency and taste. The menu as well really doesn't have much to offer. We all ended up ordering a variety of enchiladas. By far the sour cream enchiladas were the best. The beef ones were not pleasing at all, the cheese was ok, and the spinach ones tasted like canned spinach. The quality of the whole meal was poor and as we ate, we were wishing we had went to El Manantial or Mas Queso, both being far superior. We will not return and I won't be giving any recommendations for the place either. However, the...
Read moreI've been here a couple times now, over a period of several years, so this review is based off more than one visit. I've got 2 issues with Hector's - one is that their menu doesn't tell you everything that comes in the food. I've worked in a couple Mexican restaurants in my life, and been to dozens more, and this is honestly the first place that will print that tacos come with blackened shrimp and Chipotle sauce (also a mixture of sautéed vegetables, not listed), or that their tacos al carbon have "fajita steak or chicken" (and also no mention of the sautéed veggies in them, which is strange simply because traditional tacos al carbon are JUST grilled meat wrapped in a tortilla). My other issue is that, I'm sorry, but I have never had such... bland and tasteless refried beans and Spanish rice. I mean, there was no trace of any kind of flavor, which is super disappointing. My husband's beef enchiladas were good though, so I would recommend those if...
