I work there and used to be their dishwasher, but now I am their prep person. I'm responsible for making sure all food portions (ex. FrenchFries) are the same size or weight. COVID-19 caused alot of changes to the restaurant. We are still open 7 days a week, store hours and some of the staff have changed. So if you can't make it here in time before we close or just don't feel like eating out, We still offer take out , and curbside service. Our goal has remained the same. To provide good quality food and friendly and smiling service to all who come here. We have free refills on coffee and tea. We have the oldies music playing softly in the background. On friday nites we welcome the local football team and the parents and fans to come by before and after the game. Regular customers are more than welcome at that same time. During football season for the fans we keep the games playing on our large flat screen tv's. We welcome all fishermen and their boats. Large groups are welcome whether you call ahead or not. But if you call and give a heads up that your coming and approximately how many may be coming with you then your service is even faster because we can have the tables reserved and already set up for your group. Nobody is turned away. Due to the virus and limited seating you may be asked to wait for a table but service is so fast that rarely ever happens. I would like to say something about the restaurants heating and cooling system. Its true we keep the back room and cooks line on the cool side of things. Our grill is very hot and its located in a very narrow part of the dining room and with the speed in which everyone works in that area it has to stay cool so that our staff dont overheat or sweet so much they dehydrate themselves. Same goes for the back room and all the steamy hot boiling water we use to keep the dishes clean and sanitized so no one gets sick. I attempted the number 3 times with an automated message that said "the number you have called has not set up a voicemail box" (or something like that). I went in to the restaurant and my order was waiting. I asked if there was syrup in the bag, but I don't think the young heard me. I asked again and she nodded. Then, I asked if all the condiments were in the bag. She nodded. I didnt feel any condiments, so I had a look of concern on my face and asked again. When I arrived home, there were no condiments, no butter, and no syrup in the bag. The order didn't include pickles as asked nor any of the extra things we asked for. When I attempted to call the number listed on their website as their main line, it was the same number as the curbside pick up. I called it again and the same automated message was there. Today was the "second chance" after yesterday...so we wo t be back. Seems like all the staff is new and do not know how to do anything. Took our breakfast order and wrote up each item as a "a la carte" separate charge instead of as the breakfast meal.... and then told me toast did not come with the breakfast. $32.00 for breakfast because everything was wrung up "a la carte" instead of one of the breakfast meals listed on the menu.... all because the new kid did not know what he was doing and nobody was helping him. New person running the register so also took forever to check out. Don't know what happened but usually when a place goes this downhill, it's Management's fault.
Every time we eat at this location it is hands down better than any Waffle House. This is a direct reflection of a great management team all the way down to wait staff and cooks. Thank you Alexis for a great breakfast experience...
