Mochinut — Restaurant in Gurnee

I've been wanting to try this place out since they opened, but just went for the first time yesterday. The man behind the counter was kind of rude and seemed over it already though me and my friend were the only 2 in the store. I ordered 2 brown sugar milk teas, 2 doughnuts and a corndog for me and my mom and my friend said he was going to place a separate order but the man walked away for several minutes to make my order after taking my order and didn't take my friend's and then when he walked back after the few minutes he said "are you trying to place another order or something?" To which my friend replies yes and starts to place his order, getting the same brown sugar boba and the cashier cuts him off and says that I already ordered 2 brown sugar bobas to which I said one was for my mom and so he understood and kept taking my friends order. We get both our orders in finally and get our food/drinks and leave. The corndogs were amazing and absolutely delicious. The doughnuts were also very good, however the original glaze doughnut had a wafer on top and the wafer was horribly stale. And the boba was the worst of everything and very disappointing. It looked and tasted like nothing but milk with ice and boba pearls. The boba wasn't fresh and was like a goopy sludge with no bounciness or chew to it. I'm sincerely hoping it was just a bad day for that man and I'm willing to try this place out again because the pictures of other reviews look good and like there's actually tea in their cups. I’ve tried Mochinut elsewhere and was super excited about it being opened somewhere closer to me. The donuts were good like I remembered them. The corn dogs need work. I get my kids the potato one with mozzarella all the time at other corn dog places, but here they barely cover it with potatoes. The person who took my order gave us the wrong order so I had her fix it. Service could be better because when my new order was made, the girl just called out, “excuse me, hello?” I’m not even facing her and she just calls out that way when there’s multiple people. She could’ve just brought it to me. The one they remade looked better. And instead of calling out what was made they should call out ticket numbers so people don’t get confused on orders. Also I took my friend here for her first time and she tried the boba and said that it wasn’t up to par like other boba places I’ve taken her to because the drink tasted powdery like it wasn’t mixed or blended well. My wife has been wanting to try the Dubai strawberry chocolate but honestly am very disappointed 😞 😔 As we walked in they asked us to wait, it took at least 5 long minutes before the 2 guys finished their conversation in the back so i can place my order. We ordered the cherry berry which by the way was too sweet, the brown sugar tea which was ok not the best and the Dubai strawberry chocolate which is just strawberries with crunchy pistachio and Nutella! I was expecting a more tasty chocolate but was disappointed because it is $15.
