Their cookies will make you Crumbl in FEAR. Last week I went to Crumbl for the first time based off the suggestion of a friend. I walked in and the employees were friendly and the place was clean. I looked at the flavors of the day and picked out two of the flavors that looked good. I can't remember for the life of me what flavors they were but trust me, they were good flavors. The assumption that I would even pick bad flavors is frightening and you shouldn't have even thought it. When I took the cookies to the car I realized that I wanted milk so I ran inside and bought some chocolate milk. When I got back to my car I opened up my cookie box and witnessed the most instagrammable cookie I'd seen in my life. I shuttered. Why had other cookies not looked so desirable? What new science had Crumbl developed to create such a beautiful cookie? I was unsure and thought that it could take a lifetime to find the answer, so I took a bite. The first bite is what I imagine John Lennon and Paul McCartney felt when creating the Beatles or what Albert Einstein felt when discovering the Theory of Relativity. I knew this single bite had changed not just my life but would change the whole world. The flavors melted in my mouth and it was quite possibly the best cookie I'd ever had. As one bite turned to two and three and so on, I became fearful of what was to come. Firstly, I was fearful of the cookie slowly disappearing in my hand and there being less and less cookie for me to eat. Secondly, I was fearful of the new harsh reality I faced: living in a world where the cookies had peaked. I now had to go through life knowing I would never eat a cookie better than the ones I had just eaten. For that, I am truly saddened. The Brightside of this whole ideal is that I know I can return to Crumbl whenever I please. My experience at Crumbl was a pleasant one and I will be...
Read moreI visited Crumbl Cookies in Gurnee, Illinois, on a Thursday afternoon around 3:30 PM, excited to indulge in their famously wide variety of cookies. Unfortunately, my experience did not live up to the high expectations set by their reputation. Upon arrival, I was taken aback by the surprisingly sparse selection—only three types of cookies were available. This was a stark contrast to the variety I was anticipating, given the brand’s claim to fame for offering an extensive and rotating menu of flavors.
Adding to my disappointment was the overall ambiance and service, which I found to be less than welcoming. The staff, while present, did not go out of their way to enhance the customer experience or engage in a manner that made me feel valued as a patron. It felt as though the excitement and passion for their product, which I had hoped to be infectious, were noticeably absent.
While I understand that inventory can fluctuate, especially towards the end of the day, I had hoped that a bakery celebrated for its selection would better manage its offerings to ensure a broader range of choices throughout the day. Moreover, a warm and engaging customer service approach could have significantly mitigated my disappointment in the limited selection.
In summary, my visit to Crumbl Cookies in Gurnee was underwhelming. The limited cookie variety available during my visit, coupled with a service experience that felt indifferent, left me feeling that the joy and indulgence of selecting and enjoying a gourmet cookie were lost. For a brand that has garnered much love and enthusiasm from cookie aficionados, my experience was a stark deviation from what I had eagerly...
Read moreInsane because I literally gave this location a 5 star review two days ago. Came in today to redeem a free cookie from my last order (where I revived two raw cookies on a 4 pack). When we entered there was a family waiting and a single person waiting on their orders. The person who took ours wasn’t the friendliest. Asked for our name and walked away. We ordered 1 cookie. After 10 minutes have gone by no one who has ordered had received cookies yet. And employees were either talking to each other or working on other tasks. Super weird. Took 15 minutes to receive a single cookie. Apparently they were waiting for the them to get out of the oven or cool. Which we were never told. Whatever, not a huge deal. Slightly annoying though due to lack of communication and customer service. Got to the car with our single cookie. Went to break in half and it was completely raw. I mean GOOP raw. So I went back in and told an employee and she told me that it wasn’t raw. It was fresh. So manager came out (same person who took my order). And was t thrilled to see me. He agreed cookie was raw. Gave me a replacement. No apologies. Just kinda rude. Whatever again. I was still being polite. Got back to car and 2nd cookie was also raw. Even though manager said he “checked the bottom and that one was cooked fully”. The picture I am providing is of SECOND cookie. Which if manager sees this he should know it’s the second one because he never folded my box up properly and left it half put together. Apparently this location lacks customer service and proper cooking techniques....
