Bonchon Hackensack — Restaurant in Hackensack

I placed a delivery on their website, to be dropped off at 4 pm instead was supposedly to delivered at 3:30. Check outside around 4:15pm for my order and there was nothing delivered. I found out that the driver did not attempt a delivery and only brought the food back to store. I was quite upset to find this out and when I called the location. A gentlemen picked up and did not tell me he was going to put me on hold. He did not tell me his name even though I had called in twice. I believed he was the manager at the time when I called again the phone was given to him again. He proceeds to take other orders while I was on the phone. Finally, he answers the phone and I asked about my delivery, he said oh yeah, it’s here and what would you like to do with your order. Which was completely unprofessional, I said you cannot make the delivery and he said no. You can pick it up or cancel the order. Even though I was quite disappointed, I agreed to pick up my order. I requested that since I am to pick up my order to please refund my delivery fee and tip. The man on the phone informed it should be refunded in three to five days. I should see an email now. I recently checked my email and was never given any information about my refund. Once I arrived at the location, no one apologized for the lack of delivery or how my order was handled. I even called a second time asking if I can have a fresh order prior to my arrival which would be almost 2hrs after my food was supposed to be delivered. The same gentleman decline and said I put it on hot plate, so it is hot already. I said again I would appreciate a new order and he still said, no and it should be fine. I should have learned my lesson and cancel the order. The location in Leonia even though it is a farther drive is way better place to go...

I'd been coming here every weekend for a few weeks now, my family really likes the food. Unfortunately yesterday I went to pick up lunch and there was a girl behind the counter who was very rude. I didn't catch her name but there were two girls behind the counter at 2:30 when I was there and the girl giving me a hard time had dark hair (NOT the girl with the green hair). I walked in and she said "ugh hi?" clearly bothered by my arrival. I'm not sure why that was the greeting I was given, "welcome to bonchon, let us know when you're ready to order" would have been a GREAT alternate greeting but nevermind that. I said "hi I called in my order, just waiting to see what flavor bubble tea my husband wants, sorry" although there was no line and I wasn't in anyone's way. I walked up to the counter finally and I explained I called ahead but wanted to add some drinks to the order. She practically threw my bagged order at me, I stood there confused with my card in hand ready to pay until she realized she almost let a customer leave with $50+ worth of free food. She seemed annoyed at me due to her own mistake. Finally when my drinks came she said "uhhhh, here" and handed them to me like she was disgusted she had to physically give me something. I was in shock, honestly. Why the rude treatment? I wasn't asking for free anything, discounts, nothing.. my money spends like everyone elses, this employee treated me very poorly. I felt so unwelcomed. This is NOT THE TYPICAL experience here. I've left several other 5 star reviews for this place because the service is usually great but this ONE experience is the reason I'll be going back to my chicken spot in Fort Lee and not returning to...

I try my best to leave reviews at every place I eat at. I always have the garlic soy wings or mix, I've eaten at this chain plenty of times! One in Orlando, Leonia, NYC, and of course Hackensack. I was really excited to hear about them opening a place up really close to where I live, I've been here a few times and it's not TERRIBLE but there are some things to note when ordering. The breading is AMAZING, ALWAYS has been crunchy when I order my meal. The sauce and the crust are really the star of the show here, but if I'm being honest the sauce is really what has me coming back for more. My only gripe is that there is literally never enough! When ordering through doordash or uber there is not an option for extra sauce, so if you want it you have to call in or go there in person. Kinda wish it was something you'd get without having to ask, the sauce is literally gold and they sure are acting like it! When it comes to the chicken itself though, it's relatively flavorless, can't really tell when it's covered in sauce which is why I like it so much. The employees have never really seemed to be that friendly kind of like a they'd look at you in a confused way if you ask them about their day. My biggest problem with the place is that their food is expensive as hell. It's around $17 for just 10 wings and it takes you over $30 if you want double that.
