this place is actually SO BAD. The service is even worse. They are racist and reckless because they came up to us twice about our child for touching the buffet food bar even though they didn’t. Our kids came up crying because feeling blamed for the second time. I was also with them the whole time and never saw them touching anything. Just a whole racist group of people. I understand that the kids are getting up a lot but they came in to complain about the food touching issue. Some waiters and waitresses are Hispanic and started cursing at us in Spanish like we dont understand. They were also rolling their eyes at us, especially the waitresses. The food was bad. Very bad. The hotpot broth tastes like nothing but with colors. I ordered the tomato soup broth and there was nothing to do with any tomato. There were very little options for hotpot too. You have to go up to the “buffet” bar to grab your food. Actually, it’s all veggies; veggie buffet if you want hotpot. The meat has to be ordered and they come up extremely slow. It comes up in 30 minutes and it is limited too, they limit you 4 plates of meat for each order. During the 30 minute wait, they would always remind us to get up and grab your food at the veggie buffet bar. 4 orders for 10 people?? Y’all have to be kidding. Additionally, the bbq was just so weird, the taste was very questionable, it has a really strong taste of sweetness along with other flavors to make you drink water so you won’t eat that much. The surrounding was also terrible, the second we stepped in, there was smoke everywhere from the hotpot and bbq. They have a terrible air filtering system. Our food taste like nothing but when we came back our clothes are packed with the smell. The service, food and place is all terrible. They forcibly charged us 20% tip for nothing, our waitress only came if we called them or they just wanted to inform us on eating from the veggie bar. The price for my 4 year old was charged full adult price as about $44. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANYONE. PLEASE DONT GO. EXPENSIVE AND TRASH.

Every time I pass by here (located in Hackensack Commons), I always tell myself that I have to go and try it. Boo & I didn’t know what to eat tonight, so I suggested that we’d try this spot out because of the great reviews. There’s the saying “you get what you pay for”. NOT HERE!! This review is mainly for the food. Ambiance is nice and our server was kind and attentive. We did not look at the menu prior to going, so we opted for the Super Moon option because we like unlimited bbq/seafood (mainly naked shrimp) and hot pot. First, we had to pick our hot pot broths and 2 meats. Then, we had to pick 3 bbq meats. Yes it’s unlimited, but you can only choose that much each time. For hot pot, we both chose pork broth, beef brisket, and ribeye. For BBQ, we chose LA kalbi, beef bulgogi, and marinated pork rib. Drinks are served by the bottle so that means no refills. You would think that for the price you pay, they would offer steak, thick cut meats, and unlimited drinks. The server then told us to go look around the “buffet” area where there was unlimited options of veggies, noodles, sauces, raw and cooked food, and dessert. They also offer white rice, brown rice, and fried rice. We are regulars at another AYCE KBBQ spot and boo makes a delicious sauce that we put on everything, so he made it and it did not taste nowhere near it. When we got back to our table, everything was already served by a robot. Any meats with onions is for BBQ and meats without onions is for hot pot. We were HIGHLY disappointed. There was nothing good but the corn in the hot pot. The broth was bland, the kalbi ribs which are my favorite at kbbq was blah, and the beef bulgogi was also bland and had a weird texture. No matter what sauce I tried, they were all blah. Even the freakin oyster sauce did not taste like oyster sauce! We should’ve taken it as a sign that when you walk into a restaurant on a Friday night and the place is completely empty with only like 4-5 parties seated in a big establishment that this place is not good. We will take our $100+ elsewhere.

Visited The Moon Korean BBQ & Hot Pot, a unique spot with a buffet twist for hotpot/BBQ. Here’s a quick rundown of my experience: Buffet and Meats: Buffet Style: Everything you'd typically order for hotpot/BBQ is on a buffet table, except the meats, which you order through the server. Meat Quality: Not bad for both hotpot and BBQ, but I wished for a larger selection. Veggies and Sauces: Large selection available, which was great. Unique Offerings: Build Your Own Mac n Cheese: This was a highlight! You can customize it with a variety of toppings and cook it on the grill. Seafood Selection: Excellent for seafood lovers—blue crab, Jonah crab, mussels, clams, and head-on shrimp. Bingsu Machine: A fun and tasty addition to the dessert options. Broth Options: They offer a variety of broths for the hotpot. I tried the tomato, mala, and pork broths, all of which were really good. The mala broth had the perfect spice and all were flavorful. When the broth gets low, they refill it for you! Complaints: Lighting: The lighting is dim, making it hard to tell if the meat is cooked properly. Ventilation: They should have better ventilation for the hotpot steam, which can be blinding if you're seated at the end or middle of a large table. Pricing: The pricing is a bit odd and high, especially with the charge per meat plate. I'd prefer a simpler pricing model like most places, with options for BBQ, hotpot, or both. Overall Experience: A cool place to visit with a pretty good selection and quality. Despite a few complaints, I’ll definitely return when I’m in the area.

Bright, clean, easy to navigate, with large vegetarian selections of hot-pot ingredients. My daughter and I chose two "New Moon" buffet - hot pot only, seafood included. My daughter is an exclusive vegetarian, while I can occasionally tolerate a small amount of good fish and shrimp. Their seafood selection is quite small, and I was only sure about the shrimp, so I picked out 3 to eat. The shrimp added some nice flavor to my broth. We ate a decent amount of their vegetarian buffet. However, our favorite ingredient, the lotus root, was flavorless and yielded too fast to the boiling - it may have been soaked for too long, and cut too thin. The same goes for the bamboo shoots - too thin and undurable. They also ran out of tofu skin (another fave of my daughter's) and did not replenish it throughout our stay. There is a large selection of sauces for one to mix one's own unique combination, but as a hot-pot traditionalist, I only need a good sesame paste sauce, some chilli oil/sauce, and plenty of chopped cilantro. Unfortunately, every sauce tasted sweet, even when it should have been savory or spicy. Another point for improvement: please supply draining ladles for every customer. Our server, on the other hand, was super friendly, attentive, and fun to talk to!

Amanda is the best. Had my 32nd birthday here. I had a fantastic experience dining here. The atmosphere was welcoming and lively without feeling overwhelming — perfect for enjoying a great meal and conversation. The restaurant was clean, well-lit, and had a comfortable, authentic vibe. The food was excellent. The meat selection was high-quality and fresh, with a good variety to satisfy all tastes. We especially appreciated the buffet-style setup for the sides, everything from kimchi to seasoned vegetables was delicious and clearly prepared with care. A special shoutout to Amanda, who made our experience even better. She was extremely attentive, checking in with us often but never making us feel rushed. She helped guide us through the menu, answered all our questions with a smile, and made sure our table was always stocked with anything we needed. Overall, this was one of the best Korean BBQ experiences we've had, outstanding service, great food, and a fantastic atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!
