Five Guys — Restaurant in Hackensack

Very good burgers. I am 52, prob wouldn't have gone here if not for our young scty. They are very good, & like being able to order every exact topping you want. I wish they had more cheese than American. They're fries cannot be beat. Only ate here during Pandemic, which is always take out. Think it'll be better when we can eat fresh, on site. For adults, the little burger, is still 2 patties, which is plenty big enough. For shake lovers, they have so many flavors. If yo u have a peanut allergy, all their fries are peanut oil - not dure ab out grill, nor cross contamination, so if you have strong allergy check that first. I expect everyone 30 & under will love it, & is better than the big 3 (mc ds, bk, Wendy's ). Burgers are fried on a flat grill, not to a temp. They call it well, steak lovers would call medium well (taste) but no pink. So...

This is more of a review of customer service.

The very nice lady who took my order was awesome. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with ketchup, mustard, and onions. I took a second to scan the menu one more time to see if I wanted anything else. I saw there was grilled mushrooms. I asked to add the mushrooms.

This amazing lady. Kindly insisted to try the mushrooms first. Immediately I understand she knows something I don’t. Lol.

Yes I would like to try them.

The mushrooms were slimy and undercook if that.

I thanked her with much enthusiasm for her very politely ensuring me that my delicious burger will be much better off with out the mushrooms.

After everything the burger was delicious and soggy mushroom free.

Here are some dirty little secrets about this location:

The produce is not always fresh. Staff is instructed to change the dates on the labels, but the food may be older than what is on those labels.

This location has roaches by the cash register. If you wave, they might just wave back at you.

Employee’s touch their phones and hair very frequently while preparing and handling food. During busy periods, hands are often not washed and gloves are often not changed.

The temperature of the food is checked using a thermometer which may or may not be sanitized between uses.

Non-Latinos are actively discouraged from working at this location, and their applications are...
