since we ordered from this place many times before(haven't in a while, new management?) we had no problem ordering a gyro sandwich platter before, which usually comes the way it's supposed to with lamb , tomato, onion and a yogurt sauce on pita bread, nice order of fries and it's in a separate container and the salad always comes with dressing,(hot food and salad dont mix!) But this time we got around 21 pieces of fries ,a handful of romaine lettuce with a few small pieces of red onion(about a bite or 2), with a good amount of feta cheese and there was no dressing and on top of that the pita bread was cut in 4 slices and what they called beef laying on top of our salad(keeping the salad warm) and since it was all together in a styrofoam container with the pita bread, fries & salad got moist. When I called back she tried to explain to me what a gyro was. I double checked the definition again incase I was wrong but I wasn't. We went a half hour out of our way to get the food from here because we never had a problem and we normally wouldn't do this but you get what you pay for. Last time we ordered it didn't cost this amount it was less. When you raise the price the food should keep the food the same quality or better. Also mushrooms from a can may save money now but can make the sandwich taste funny if you dont strain or cook the water out. In the long run cutting corners & lowering the quality now will make you lose money and customers later. I didn't complain about paying more and never will as long as I get what I paid for. I double checked and made sure we had extra sauce because it was always left out I would never think I would have to check to make sure I had a sandwich or cut up bread without the toppings. I can keep going. I ran a restaurant for 10 years and this is a no brainer to many people sitting around to make any mistakes and it wasnt the end of the night and it was not a...
Read moreMost food is average but the pizza is really poor. I’ve seen a lot of reviews for this place that say how good the pizza is and it makes me doubt the reviews are legit. I understand supply and demand and I understand that the food delivery business has been booming since this whole Covid thing has been going on. So I can’t blame them for “capitalizing” on the situation and raising their prices somewhat. But they raised their prices WAY up. AND 3 dollars for a delivery charge? That’s insane! I usually tip about 5 dollars and I’m a half mile away. 8 dollars for delivery ain’t gonna happen for me and I’m not going to screw the driver just so the owner can profit on delivery. I found out about the price increase last night when I ordered delivery and when the driver tried to hand me an updated menu I told him to give it back to his boss because I won’t need a capital menu again. Including the tip, it cost me $28.35 for 1order of Capital Fries and 2 (very small) slices of cake. That’s leaning toward price gouging...
Read moreI have been getting the lunch specials 3-4 times per week for the past 6+ months. Today was the first time I I called to let them know how disappointed I was with the fried chicken salad that consisted of one thin strip of chicken about an inch in length over a scant amount of lettuce covered by mounds of greasy fried breading that resembled bacon bits. If I knew this prior to departing to the beach, I would have returned it to them as it was barely edible at $9 + cost. Their response was : Thank you for letting us know, no apology. I guess my feedback is not valued as a loyal Customer. Needless to say, I will not be going back as they are not interested nor concerned about quality improvement. Disappointed does not even begin to describe how I feel. It is a shame because other items have exceeded my expectations and I will miss the camaraderie of some members of their staff. I cannot recommend Capital Pizza given this...
