This place has really gone downhill. I've been here 5-6 times over the course of a few years and the food has gradually been on the decline since my first visit. Everything prior to today's visit was edible, however, what I recieved today was disgusting, and quite frankly, an embarrassment. I ordered online and got a call 30 mins later telling me that they were out of churros and they kept trying to force flan on me. I arrive 40 mins after placing the order and my order is quite literally in multiple pieces, unbagged, and laying all around the cash register. I wait for a few mins while the one worker who wasn't sitting and watching loud videos on his phone frantically bags the order. Once again, they tried to force flan on me and told me in broken English that they didn't know how to refund online orders. I ended up forcibly taking cheesecake to end the dilemma. The food itself was abysmal. Me neither my sister ate very much of it. 90% of it went straight in the trash. For one, the meat was like it was old and microwaved. Two, I have no idea where in South America they got the inspiration to use arborio rice for their Mexican rice, considering it originated in Italy and is primarily used in risotto. The rice was very thick and strange, to be honest, but was suprisingly the most edible thing. Third, the chorizo and queso dip was vile. One chip with the dip on it almost made me vomit. It tasted like they put water in the queso dip. It was almost like eating Cheez Whiz mixed with water. Even the cheese cake (that was literally in a Cheesecake Factory box or something) was old or something because it tasted disgusting. Even the emails they send you for 15% off your next order don't ever work. Does anyone test this or even the food for that matter??? Won't be back. I generally order the same stuff and it just slowly gets worse each visit - now it's to the point of being practically inedible. Wouldn't even feed...

Found this little gem through a google search and am so glad I did! The waitress who took my to-go order was pretty and patient! (I saw other reviews that had negative service experiences and I am very glad that my first experience was such a positive one.) I was craving some caldo de res and I was thrilled with their version. I ordered my soup with flour tortillas since my tacos came with corn, and both were good. I also ordered some tacos- both carnitas (pork) and asada (steak) and was pretty pleased with the tacos themselves, however the beans and rice left something to be desired. Hindsight, I would save the money and room in my stomach for more tacos 🌮 The horchata was also so good!! I really want to give this place a 5 star but I will need to do more research and see if it is consistently good & how service is over time. Definitely going to have to pace my research- I can see myself getting a lil Gordita if I become...

We had a great time at Taqueria Jalisco. This is a sweet family owned restaurant and the owner's son gave us some great tips on ordering some authentic Mexican dishes like tortas (Mexican subs) and others. The guacamole is freshly made and is delicious! Their family gets fresh ingredients from farms. Staff was friendly and helpful, service was quick and timely, and food was delicious!

We were in the area for 2 weeks and we ate here 4 times! According to my 9 year old, we should give this place “all the stars.” Food is incredibly prepared with fresh ingredients, authentic Mexican dishes and spices, and great portions. We love supporting small family businesses like this one and they totally deserve it. Recommend the Mexican street tacos, the Tacos Al Pastor (pork with pineapple) are amazing. Make sure to ask about the...

Passing through Hagerstown, our online search for authentic Mexican food lead us to Taqueria Jalisco and we weren't disappointed. Located in a strip mall with ample, Taqueria Jalisco has about a dozen tables and offers take out. As soon as we were seated we were served freshly made chips and salsa. Lunch menu items are under $10. We chose a steak burrito which was a 10" tortilla filled with grilled beef, rice and beans and topped with house red sauce and Pico de Gallo ($8.95). Our other meal was 3 tacos (chicken, Carnitas and chorizo) with side of rice and beans ($8.50). Both meals were quite good. Sodas are served in a large cup ($2.50) and they do not serve alcoholic beverages. The service was prompt and friendly.

This unassuming gem of a place is clean, quite no-frills yet welcoming at the same time. The variety of dishes offered on the menu is impressive and even though we chose very basic dishes (three kinds of tacos with rice and beans for him, a chicken taco salad for me), each component of our meals was outstandingly and authentically flavored. Nothing felt like it was something we could have ordered elsewhere. It’s like there was a little extra love in there ☺️. We know we’ll be coming back often. It’s easy to get there from I-70 when passing through Hagerstown.
