I would never recommend this baker to anyone especially not for something as important as a wedding. The cake she delivered was sloppy, uneven, and looked nothing like what was promised. On top of that, the cake itself was dry and flavorless, completely unworthy of the occasion.
When we tried to discuss the issues, instead of taking any accountability, she dismissed my concerns and tried to make it seem like I was the problem. It was insulting and unprofessional and classic gaslighting instead of good customer service.
Weddings are stressful enough, and putting your trust in a vendor who doesnât care about quality or responsibility only makes it worse. Save yourself the heartache and go to literally any other baker.
The cake with blue is what we ordered from her design profile and the only thing we changed was the blue to an emerald green. Not only did we not get emerald green the gold was a tacky shade and she added the awful uneven bubble border I absolutely hated.
Review reply rebuttal: At no point in my consultation or tasting was a border ever discussed. That claim is simply not true. And regardless, if a border was truly necessary because of your inability to stack and smooth two cake tiers cleanly, then it should have been executed properly. The border I received was sloppy, uneven, and only highlighted how poorly constructed the cake was.
The reason I left my original review was not out of malice, but to help prevent another bride from going through what I went through on one of the most important days of her life. A wedding cake is not just another order itâs something that should be handled with care, precision, and respect for the clientâs trust. If this is truly your livelihood, then there should be a greater standard of quality and accountability instead of dismissing and gaslighting unhappy clients.
Itâs also misleading to suggest that the venue restricted my design. I specifically chose one of YOUR own sample cakes a design you created yourself in order to keep it simple and within your comfort zone. Even with that, you still delivered something far below the quality represented in your own photos.
My review is not to âattack the entire cake,â but to be honest about what I received: a dry, poorly finished, misrepresented cake that fell short in both execution and professionalism. Brides deserve transparency,...
Read moreI had found Cake and Bake at a Bridal show where they were showcasing their cake samples and I found the lavender flavor in particular so amazing. I took their business card to book with them for my wedding but it was very difficult to get in contact with them through phone call. They stated that there was an option to text them instead so I did and someone got back to me quicker. From there the first conversation I had with someone was great but following that day, their responses were so delayed and I had to keeping asking for basic information like if they needed my contact information, if there was an invoice that would be sent, and what time for pickup would work when wanting to place an order. I stated that I wanted to place an order on April 9th and all of the details of the order didnât get set untill April 22nd, almost 2 weeks later, due to their poor communication. I had picked up my cake the day before my wedding day, and when it came time to eat it the âLavender Cake with buttercream fillingâ tasted like vanilla cake with a hint of lavender, which was not at all like what I had originally tasted from them. Very dissatisfied with my experience...
Read moreI reached out to order treats for my daughterâs first birthday prior to arriving from out of town. I needed a small smash cake and a few dozen cupcakes. There was almost 24 hours between each question and response between the owner and me so I cut it very close in getting an order placed in time (granted I probably should have reached out more than two weeks before the party). I didnât choose a cake off the site but one of my ideas was animal themed since we were doing animal kingdom on the day of my daughterâs first birthday. She said she could do a sunset cake with animal silhouettes, which sounded great. She asked if I wanted writing on the cake and as I was imaging a pretty elaborate cake, I didnât think thereâd be room to add writing without making the cake look too busy so she offered to write on the cake board.
Upon arrival, the cake looked ok. I thought there would be a lot more color to the sunset and I really feel she should have told me the top of the cake would be super plain without the writing or any other design. The cupcakes were horrible looking at $36 dozen. They didnât taste bad but definitely just tasted like a basic box mix. Super...
