Placed order over the phone, girl was polite and efficient. Went to pick up order, food was ready and smelled good. Headed to the car and checked my bag, missing a stromboli. Head back in, issue with a printer. The manager came out apologized, said he could make it quick if I was willing to wait.
Stromboli was worth the wait, perfectly golden exterior, lots mozz and pepperoni, held up well after cutting and came with a generous amount of marinara for dipping. Also ordered a large tomato pie w/ half ricotta. It was not what I expected. Im used to a thicker Sicilian style crust, lots of sauce that bakes in and caramelizes on top, no cheese except a sprinkle of parm. This was not that. Thinner crust like a normal pizza with a nice crunchy crust. Fresh marinara style sauce, very bright flavor you can taste the fresh garlic and basil. Sprinkle of melted cheese, a little more pungent then mozz maybe provolone. And lots of fresh basil on top. Again not what I expected but a very tasty pie. We also got 2 orders of wings. 10pcs naked with hot sauce- these were fine. Sauce lacked spice, but they were cooked well and average size. 10pcs breaded wing with garlic. These were great, again average to slightly small in size. But the garlic sauce was amazing and the breaded wing really soaked up all that flavor.
Overall solid food, I will be adding them to the pizza shop rotation. But im still on the hunt for a tomato pie my way.
*Edit to add: The owner personally contacted me after seeing my review. Even though it was a good review, he offered to bring me a tomato pie "my style" on him, and explained what to ask the phone girl for next time. Thats above and beyond service!!! He delivered it personally and stopped to chat a bit. This pizza was over the top good, exactly what I have was craving. They have definitely found a loyal customer in me! Rating changed from 4 to 5 stars. This...

If you havenât been to Mateos yet, let me put it bluntlyâyouâre missing out on what can only be described as a life-altering pizza experience. Seriously, this place doesnât just serve pizza; they serve art. I mean, who knew crust could be so perfectly crisp yet airy, and the toppings so fresh youâd think theyâve got a garden out back?
The service? Exceptional. The staff makes you feel like familyâthe fun kind who knows how to keep things light and welcoming. From the moment you walk in, theyâve got smiles, jokes, and a sixth sense for knowing whether youâre a âpepperoni puristâ or a âletâs try every toppingâ adventurer.
Now, letâs talk timing. And yes, if you have a last-minute idea on a Friday night to grab pizza here, good luck. Friday night is pizza night everywhere, and at Mateos, itâs a full-blown pizza party around 6:45 pm. But hereâs the thingâitâs totally worth the wait. Grab a drink, chat it up, and watch the kitchen crew work their magic like a perfectly choreographed dance.
Bottom line: this place gets it. Great food, great vibes, and the kind of dining experience that leaves you saying, âWhy didnât I come here sooner?â Go now,...
Read moreStopped in here for a quick, late lunch. Plan was to grab some slices so i could inhale them & scoot back to work. Walked in & looked at the pies on the rack. Wasn't a lot to choose from. One stuffed steak pizza and some basic one-or-two-topping choices. I went real plain. Tomato-cheese slice and a bell pepper + onion slice. Except for the stuffed option, all were thin crust, which i usually do not prefer. From the first bite to the last, these slices were delicious!!! The sauce had nice noticeable flavor, and it had to be the best thin crust dough i can remember experiencing!!:: Crispy on the bottom, perfect on the pie side, slightly buttery. It was kinda heavenly, honestly. And it's hard to get that kinda review from me. Rare chance i'll get back here, but if i'm ever in the area again I would go here on the regular. Great job! I woulda gave a 5, but the selections on ready-to-go slices was rather narrow for my liking. Too bad i can't give a 4.5. Otherwise, the...
