My wife and I have lived in this area for nearly 40 years and have eaten at this Chicken Express on Denton Highway in Haltom City since it was opened. Food has always been good but not something you drive too far out of the way for. Service is always liked at this particular location. It was never to a situation where we said we would not go back to eat here. But this visit on Friday 8 9 changed our minds. Service was relatively good and we were served fairly quick. The food was the big issue. We ordered the two piece chicken with two vegetables. We had the option of pieces of chicken and we ordered breast and thigh. Are vegetables were creamed potatoes and coleslaw. We were not asked if we wanted biscuit or roll but got a roll. It tasted as if it had been left out from last night and was just stuck in something to warm up. It was flat and hard and uneatable. The green potatoes have always had gravy on them. This particular order look like they had just shown the gravy to the potatoes and forgot to put it on there. The coleslaw had a good flavor but it was just totally wet in the bottom of the cup. The breast on the order both orders was hard and dry. it looked like it had been under the heat lamp all day. The thigh in the orders was fairly good but awfully greasy. Probably our last time at this one but will try others. We do have Popeyes and Church's closer to us than this that we will be...
Read moreI've been to this location multiple times. While the food is ok, the management really needs to focus on staff. Today they were "training" as another location had closed down and that staff moved to this store (if they were already working at a C. E. why did they need "training"?) I called in my order at 6:05 and was told it would be ready at 6:30. After waiting in drive thru lane for several minutes, I approached the window, my $$ was taken and I wait. And wait. And wait. All the while noticing at a minimum ... 7 employees hovering around the time clock, talking about something other than business. After another 15 minutes I was asked to pull around as they had "forgotten" to drop the livers I ordered. It's now 7pm. I do as asked and wait...and wait. The young man then comes out, empty handed, and says "I know you're gonna be mad, but they just put your hot wings down". Is there anything I can get, or do for you?" I just shook my head and said yeah you can throw something in there for me. (A fried pie or drink was offered). After another 8 minutes he came back with food.. In 3 seperate boxes but no bag. Apparently they were out. Again, food is ok but there obviously was no Adult, experience or management of any kind on premises. If they don't pay attention, they're going to lose a lot...
Read moreThis location has been here for a very long time and I remember it growing up through childhood, Ive eaten here many times over the course of my life and have even worked there for a brief time. What I can say is this, the store has great food for a good price coming from a local trusted and verified food distribution network, that is then fryed to a crunchy gold crust of batter and breaded juicy chicken tenders and pieces with many different optional sides that are also fried or hand made and correctly stored. For how long this store has been at this location and for its actual size in terms of a drive through fast food business compared to its square feet of property, there is more customer traffic per minute 5 times over from the time the store was first built and now. This means 4 orders of 20peice tenders and 2 orders of 8 peice bone, now have all of the main chicken fryers going for 6-15 minutes. Then all 6 of those orders each have 2 sides of 5 varying types, occupying the 4 side fryers for 12 total frying times varrying from 2-5mins each. So if the store takes a few minutes to get you the food you ordered, expecialy during prime times on consistanly busy days like lunch/church/dinner/holiday/seasonal, give them the slack because it still holds the traditional way it...
