What’s the hype about this place? It’s just a regular burger joint except I’ve had better. I went here for the first time yesterday. Before I arrive at a place i stake out the menu. I saw only 1 burger had one patty, but the majority of burgers had two. I called because I didn’t want to pay the same price for two patties when I only wanted one. I’m guessing I spoke to the “manager” who told me for one patty take $2 off the price of a burger with two. I thought ok cool.
I get to the drive thru and I’m told it’s just $1 off, um that’s not what I was told. She spoke to the manager and he confirmed she was correct, BUT when you look on the menu to ADD AN EXTRA PATTY IS $3!!
So otp I’m told it’s $2 off, at the restaurant I’m told it’s $1 off, but to add extra meat it’s $3? I was going to order $15 worth of food, but the bartering is whats a turn off for me, and not holding your word accountable.
I get to the window and the girl says “I know it’s expensive…” umm, excuse me? Like girl, if you can’t afford a $7 burger don’t project those broke insecurities on me… anyway, I replied back, “it’s not expensive, but I don’t like being told one thing then told another. It makes me feel like I’m being haggled and begin to lose faith in who I’m dealing with. On top of that, once again it’s $3 to add an extra patty but they only take iff $1? Insane. There’s no place on the menu that gives add- on prices or shows a one patty option. Is this a swap meet or a restaurant? Fix your menu so customers won’t have to pay extra depending on how much money you need for that day.
The burger, basic. Absolutely basic. No flavor if it weren’t for the sauce, which was also mediocre, the burger would taste like nothing. The patty was 3X smaller than the bun and it was flat. Hardly any toppings. I had so much bread left over because the patty didn’t cover its entirety. I’ve gone to In N Out, who I’m guessing this place is trying to replicate, but INO is much better; taste wise and you’ll get your moneys worth. On the picture the patties look thick, but mine was as thin as a slice of paper. I had to open it to make sure they didn’t give me a plain burger it was that flat.
I’ll just continue going to tasty Shake Shack who is actually expensive BUT worth every penny and at least there, I know I won’t...
Read moreI’m an original OC person and I really miss the burgers I grew up with and can’t seem to find The charbroil flavor from the burger stands in the OC. So we came across OC burgers and decided to give it a try.
My wife was really craving a bacon avocado cheeseburger and I was craving a bacon breakfast burrito so we both decided to give it a shot.
My wife really enjoyed the bacon avocado cheeseburger it was the best or closest to California flavor that we’ve encountered here in the DFW area. The burger was charred correctly the flavor was spot on and would definitely order it again in a heartbeat. The fries were very bland nothing to write home about the only flavor we could find on them was the salt. Perhaps it’s something with the oil?
I tried to bacon breakfast burrito and found it to be much smaller than what you would find in the OC. It had crumbled bacon instead of strip bacon the way you would find it in most places out there so the bacon flavor was difficult to catch in between the egg and the potatoes. Overall not a bad burrito but definitely not what we’re would used to.
So I decided to order some additional items to give me a more roundabout feel of the place so I ordered a chorizo burrito which is not on the menu but they assured me that they could make one and an order of onion rings.
The chorizo burrito was a bit disappointing. You could not taste the chorizo flavor in it and surprisingly enough it had jalapeños and sliced jack cheese. A first for me. The Chorizo flavor was very hard to non existent to taste as it was being overwhelmed by the jalapeños and the jalapeño Jack cheese. If you are looking for a chorizo burrito this is not it however it’s not a bad burrito for being just a burrito.
The onion rings looked impressive and we gave it a couple of tries with some of their OC sauce. The OC sauce is a sweet version of thousand Island good but not enough to cover up the flavor of the onion rings again I think it’s something with the oil. The onion rings were OK.
Definitely a great place for the burgers and a I will come back and try some other menus and give you an honest assessment. The manager was walking around and asking how everything was and talking to folks...
Read moreWe ate here for the very last time tonight.
My family has eaten here dozens of times over the years. My wife and I have made four trips in the last six weeks including tonight with our daughter. We stopped in tonight and, as usual, the ventilation system was so loud that we had to raise our voices almost to a shout just to be heard across the table. When we placed our orders we had to shout over the roar of the HVAC , through our masks and around the plastic Covid shield at the register. The man taking our orders apparently misheard my wife's order. She asked for a #10 (chicken sandwich) and he apparently heard #2 (bacon burger). When the order was delivered, I politely shouted to them that the order was incorrect; she ordered a #10......not a #2 and that she had specifically NOT ordered any fries. The man who had taken our order replied that we had ordered a burger. I said no, I heard her say a #10. He, again, said that I was wrong and she had ordered #2. I told him that it was not good business to argue with a customer. Since I was tired of shouting over all the noise we just sat down and ate what they had served. After we had finished eating an employee came over and plopped down a chicken sandwich---the one my wife had ordered--- and said "Sorry for the mistake. "
As we were about to leave I once again told the man---he acted like he was a manager of some sort--- that it was not good business to argue with a customer. Before I finished my sentence he started arguing that he had not argued with me. I said that he implied that HE knew what we ordered and we DID NOT......implying that my wife was so stupid that she didn't know what she ordered. He ARGUED BACK that he had not called her stupid nor had he argued with us. Then he just waved his hand dismissively and said, "Goodbye."
So...once again, sir....It is not good business to argue with customers nor is it a good idea to tell them that they are too stupid to know what they ordered. Just admit that you couldn't hear correctly and take steps to correct the fault in...
