Chili Chicken (Indo-Nepalese Restaurant) — Restaurant in Haltom City

Wow!! This place is delicious. Today was our first time visiting, so we were one of "those" customers, taking some time before ordering, but the gentleman at the counter was patient and helpful, and made sure to let us know the mutton was bone-in before purchase. My husband and I ordered (as takeout) the mutton curry, and the Jhol and Chili Mohos, both chicken. They asked us how spicy we wanted it (medium), and it was spot on for us. Everything smelled and tasted delicious. The Mohos were both amazing. The jhol felt comforting and along the flavor profile of a classic fried dumpling. The chili mojos were great; the first bite made me think of a backyard bbq, and a nice level of heat. The mutton curry came with long grain rice that helped cool off the spiciest of our 3 choices. Don't let this little restaurant fool you into thinking it is going to be terrible just because it is next to a gas station. The mutton curry with basmati rice were very enjoyable, and the kothe momos were delish. The curry having the right amount of gravy, and the mutton was tender. My expectations for the butter naan were a little high, it was a little chewy and lacked in buttery flavor, but it was okay. The raita had a nice flavor, but is a little thicker than I am used to. Still a good raita. I also ask for mint chutney everywhere I go. There is just something about a good chutney that makes the meal. It had great flavor, with a kick of spice. We stopped in on a Friday night around 6:45, excited to try the momos after reading the raving reviews. I’m so glad we did! It was moderately busy, with a constant stream of takeout orders. The restaurant was super-chill and no frills with plenty of huge comfy booths and tables. We were quickly greeted by a friendly staff ready to take our order. We ordered the Chatpate, Chili Chicken, and Chicken Chili Momos. The food arrived piping hot at our table. The Chatpat had plenty of crisp fresh veggies and flavorful seasonings. The Chili Chicken and Chili Chicken Momos were both loaded with excellent flavors and spices, but the Chili Chicken was hands-down my favorite.
