Acapulco Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Ham Lake

I don't know how this place has good reviews. It's not authentic at all. Taco bell food is better. My husband and I went out for Valentine's day, I picked this restaurant because the one in New Brighton is great and food is amazing. We walked in and hostess was nice and waitress was very kind. But the food was a whole different story. It was extremely disappointing. We both ordered chile Rellano, tamale and bean and rice. My husband did order black beans. I ordered refried. The meal literally came out in 8 min. I never in my life ordered a meal and it was served so quickly. The waitress came out with plates with hot pads on her hands. I didn't realize the plate could be extremely so hot. Iburnt my hand. This wasnt sizzling Fajitas...This was either microwaved or place under a broiler. The presentation was horrifying. The plate look like diarrhea or a dirty diaper. Everything was floating in sauce. The beans had black burn spot over the top and the rice was crusty and old. The tamale was so dry and chille relano was nasty the cheese was like watery goo. To top it off my husband received his black bean in like a soup cup and went to take a bite ...we both freaked out !!! There was long onions like the cup was just full of them. We took them a side we thought it was leeches. Now that's our inside joke. It was so not appetizing. After that my husband did complain about the beans. The waitress indicated she wasn't sure why the onions are in the beans like that. We received a new bean order, it was ice cold. We didn't complain much. It was Valentine's day. We just left as fast as we could to go somewhere else to enjoy our day. This place is hot mess. The kitchen needs help!!! Cooks are lazy clearly and have no passion for what...

Last Saturday I called in a “to go” order at 3:00 to be picked up at 5:15. All I ordered was 3 orders of cheese dip, chips and rice, nothing else. We arrived on time, went in and paid but was told they didn’t have it “quite ready” and told me to wait in the car and they would bring it right out. Twenty minutes went by and no food. I went back in and the same gal that told me to go to the car asked if she could help me. I said I was still waiting for my food and she obviously had forgotten about it. She went back to the kitchen then came to tell me they “made the order wrong” and it would be a few more minutes. They made cheese dip, chips and rice wrong??? I waited another 5 minutes by the hostess stand but no one came out of the kitchen and she magically pulled my order from a table behind the hostess stand and said “your order is ready”. I believe it had been sitting there the entire time and she just didn’t look. I understand mistakes happen in the kitchen but don’t make up stories. It’s better to be honest and just deal with it. Loved this place. Last night I did not. We were a party of 11 celebrating a birthday. Everyone got their food which came up rather quickly, which was nice, but me. The server came to the table and asked if everyone had everything, like she was done serving. I looked at her and asked about my food. She seem surprised and asked what I had. I reminded her what I had ordered, 5 minutes later she came back with my order which was half right. She didn't bring my refried beans. I waited another 4 minutes to get her attention, and asked where they were, she seem surprised again. Finally 10 minutes later, I got them. By this time my party were almost done eating. The worse experience was my Son found a big metal bristle off a metal grill cleaning brush in my Grandson's, children's meal. In his French fries. How dangerous is that. He's only 5. Good catch on my Son's part. That could of been a horrible situation. The owner or manager offered to make him a new meal. I don't think we can go back. The owner seems...
