Mimi's Diner — Restaurant in Hamburg Township

I have been to Mimi's Diner a few times and it was good, but tonight was lousy. I ordered the fried chicken a few months ago and it was excellent. Ordered it again tonight and it was terrible. There must have been honey in the batter or something because it was sweet and very unpleasant. Fried chicken should be savory. I ate the chicken leg and it was ok but then tried the breast and it had uncooked batter, wiggly skin, and the chicken meat fell apart like it had been injected with water.. Ate a little of it and couldn't stand it anymore. The waitress brought the bill and I told her about it and she said she would be right back. Never came back. So I got up and paid the bill and told the girls at the register about it and they couldn't have cared less. I am shocked that they didn't try to make it right. I have been eating out for many years and once in a while a meal is bad and a good restaurant would make it right. At least say they are sorry for the bad food!! Nothing. What a...

My server Janice was an incredible server. She was so welcoming, she made me and my girlfriend feel like we were regulars even though it was our second time and first time meeting Janice. We sat down and she had our drinks within the minute of us ordering. Our food came out so fast I thought she was magic. She also brought the side of my meal immediately so I had something whole I was waiting (even though I didn't have to wait long) We didn't look at the hours before coming in and we realized we showed up 20 mins to close!! But Janice didn't make us feel rushed at all, we actually only realized they were closing cause some lights turned off. Our food was top tier!!

Unknown to Janice I had a pretty rough day, including a urgent care trip. Janice made my mood and attitude about the day take a full 180. I walked in wanting to cry and I left smiling. I couldn't have asked for a better server! She really was my saving grace today

Went there today sunday at about 10:30 am.they were busy. Normally there service was good. Today our order was taken quickly. I ordered breakfast my wife ordered lunch. 30 minutes went by and no food. There were people coming in after us ordering and getting there food within 5 minutes. I asked our waitress if our order was lost. She said no it got pushed back. The owner Mimi saw that I was getting upset and instead of coming over and seeing what she could do, she yelled out from behind the counter and said that they were really busy with breakfast orders. If we hadn't order a lunch order we would have had our food. Very unprofessional and rude.. I didn't know what that had to do with anything, they should be able to prepare anything there a restaurant. So we finally received our food about 11:20. We had been there 2 times for dinner last week. I don't now if we will go back any time soon, after the owner was so rude...
