Their description says it is elevated bar food. I was not impressed. My wife, daughter, and I stopped in for lunch on 7/19 just after 1pm. I had the Meatball Smash, my daughter had the meatball appetizer, and the wife had the Buffy Blue salad. First the meatballs were not good, the flavor profile was off. I could not taste any Italian sausage, or thyme, and there was a strange almost freezer burnt taste to them. It probably didn't help that they were still lightly pink in the middle also. The sauce was great, cheese was melted well with a slight browning. The bread with the appetizer was so much better than the ciabatta bun used on my sandwich. It was hard although it wasn't toasted. The wife did not enjoy her Buffy Blue salad either. The chicken was cold and dry, not what I would expect from rotisserie chicken. The Buffalo dressing was ok, slightly more on the vinegar sour side. Price wise was very disappointing over $50 not including tip. For the portions recieved this seems a bit on the steep side. The bag of chips was bigger than the meatball smash sandwhich. $15 for a three meatball appetizer is just expensive for bar food. The competition in Mason that is a full service restaurant, is about 30-35% cheaper for similar menu items. The decor was pleasantly quirky. The old house has a certain charm, and the layout is cozy. If you don't want to hear the next labels conversation, this isn't the place for you. Service was excellent! Our glasses stayed full, dishes were promptly removed, and we were asked at least twice if we needed anything else. Check was brought when requested. Polite and with a friendly smile. Not sure I will give it another go simply because there is better food, at better prices, with more choices elsewhere.

Very cute atmosphere. You can tell that there was a lot of thought and effort put into the design and overall concept of the restaurant. This is the main reason I am giving 4 stars because I have been in the restaurant business and the details are key. The service was good. I won't say great as it was busy and fairly obvious that these people were spent. It was busy as it was Friday night and the bar was packed. I'm not sure why there was only one bartender. They were slammed! They were doing their best but it was fairly obvious that they were exhausted. Been there. Get a service bartender and help that poor person out! Our table was upstairs which was a bit of a mess. The hostess was kicking butt though keeping those tables cleaned and rotating. Our server was a bit frazzled though nice. The food and drinks took awhile to come out. Recommendation: get your servers to read The Waiting Game. It helped me out tremendously when I was just starting out waiting tables. The food was ok. I think our favorite was the pretzel with the whipped feta and poblano queso. Everything came out hot and seemed like it didn't sit too long in the window. Overall, I think the place will get better over time. The business demand for the area is certainly there. Best of luck MaineTowne. We are rooting for you!

I’ve been to Mainetowne three times since they opened and have been consistently impressed each time. They have a unique albeit fairly small menu. The queso was quite good but the Mexicali salad was the star of the show. It has a ton of flavor and the shredded lettuce tossed with all of the toppings makes for a perfect bite every time. $17 seems a bit steep for a salad (especially if grabbing for lunch) but the locally soured chicken and fresh ingredients make it hard to argue that it’s not worth it. I also had the white sangria which was light and refreshing. I’m looking forward to when they have their liquor license. I’m not a beer drinker so the options are very limited right now. If I had to nitpick, my main complaint is that they don’t make their chips in house. With such a small menu, I feel like it’s a missed opportunity to make such a simple side fresh. Overall though I plan on coming back pretty often. The staff have all been great, the restaurant is beautiful, and I’m so happy we have this option in Maineville!

We have been there five times now. The service is good. The food comes with mixed reviews. The Whipped Feta was so rich I could only take a few bites. It was more like something that should be on a salad. Take that one off the menu. The Mac and Cheese was really good and came out piping hot. One of the best Mac and Cheeses I've had at a restaurant. The Beef Brisket Sloppy Joe was good. I've had that twice. The Buffalo Chicken Flatbread was unremarkable. I probably wont get it again. The Meatballs were so hard I couldn't enjoy them. Improve on the meatballs or remove them from the menu. We've had the Grippos Tots three times and they would have been fabulous if they had come out hot. Every time they were warm bordering on room temperature. They are in desperate need of a good burger on the menu. Maybe a smash burger. The prices are somewhat high. They need to darken the bar area a bit and make it a little more warm. Maineville is in need of a good food / bar place. It will be a hit if they can hone in on the menu and make sure to serve everything...
