Anyone that knows me, knows I love Cowboy Troys. But the changes to their wings is almost a deal breaker. 2 lbs of wings for $32, that is outrageous! I used to get 15 wings-5 wings per flavor. Now you can only get 1 flavor per pound. If you want 2 flavors per pound the sauce comes on the side and you have to mix it yourself...usually I get the wings to go so this is not a good option as I can't thoroughly mix wings out of a to go container. So do they expect you to dip each wing into a sauce container and then dip into ranch or blue cheese?? It's just not the same as having the wings premixed by a professional. I might be able to live with that if the price were fair. But $32 for the most 16 wings?? That's $2 per wing assuming you even get 16. I was told they went with by the pound instead of number of wings because the wings are so big. I'm assuming this is a food cost saving alternative but if so shouldn't the customer cost be lower not outrageously higher?? Also when I got my two flavors, two pounds of wings, one of the flavors was wrong-def not cowboy signature-was actually one of the most bland wings I've ever had. I strongly suggest they reevaluate their food costs. No one would ever buy 2lbs of wings from a grocery store for $32. I know they have to mark it up and the sauce has a cost but I can see no justification for this price. Again, I love Cowboy Troys and I think all of their food has a great taste but this is enough to turn me off from going back.
Edit: Still waiting on any sort of response as to why their wings are so outrageously priced. $8 is standard for 1lb at any gourmet or bar type wing place. How is $16 for 1lb justified??
Edit 2: Thank you for your response! To be clear, I was your advertising rep for an entirely different business over 7 years ago. I am in no way associated with Cowboy Troys nor have I ever been. I am merely an advocate of fairly priced chicken wings. While I understand the pandemic has caused price increases in every industry I believe the 1lb change was put into place 2019. Even if it were due to the pandemic, the closest competitor in the valley offers 1lb for $13, which is still $2.75 less than Cowboy Troys. Just something...
Read moreIn Montana's vast and rugged land, Where mountains rise and rivers bend, There lies a dive bar, humble and small, A place where tales of the ordinary enthrall.
Amidst the sawdust and dim-lit haze, A medley of characters, lost in a daze, A cowboy in the corner, hat pulled low, Sipping his whiskey, moving slow.
The jukebox plays a weary tune, Echoes of dreams that left too soon, Bartender with a weary grin, Pours another shot for those drowning within.
The walls adorned with tales untold, Of rugged adventures, both young and old, A faded sign, neon lights flicker, A reminder of dreams that liquor may quicker.
The beer flows freely, conversation light, A mix of laughter and sorrows in the night, In this dive bar of mediocrity, Where life unfolds in simplicity.
The pool table worn, cues in hand, A friendly game, a casual stand, Flickering neon beer signs hum, As tales of the ordinary become the sum.
Underneath the Montana sky so wide, In this dive bar where dreams reside, Mediocrity weaves its own magic spell, In the tales of the ordinary, where stories dwell.
So here's to the dive bars, simple and true, Where the mediocre moments become the view, In Montana's embrace, under stars that gleam, A dive bar's poetry, an...
