We visit the area a couple times a year and were happy & surprised to find this place on the most recent trip. We planned to stop by for pre-dinner cocktails but ended up staying for food as a group of 4.
The cocktails are modern, with interesting ingredients and seemingly quality luquor. We had about a dozen as a group and for the most part were very well balanced and enjoyable.
The food was, to me, even better. We also had about a dozen small plates, mostly "mains," and even the picky eaters were delighted. A steak was perfectly done, scallops soft and hot, and the seasonings all interesting and complex while not too unfamilair for our less adventurous group member. One of our first surprises was an apparent ganrish of endive leaves that had a light scallion oil dressing and was delicious. And the positives kept coming, for every plate and glass.
The space is limited and dimmed but not dark, mostly made up of bar counter and plush booths. The music was interesting remakes of past hits, and the decor quirky but not offensive. The service staff is few but attentive and polite. Very high...
Read moreI ordered one of the specialty mocktails ($8) with a shot of gin and was given what I believed to be what I ordered. When I received the bill, I was informed what I got was a cocktail with Prosecco (not at all what I ordered) with a $10 shot of gin in addition. When I asked about the price jump I was asked by the owner âwell did you drink it?â There was no cocktail similar to the mocktail on the menu and no one mentioned to me that there was a similar drink so yes, I drank the drink unknowing that it would be a $16 markup rather than a shot addition. We also ordered food and never received it in the hour and a half we were there. Cute bar, really needs work on service and clarity on menu. Waitress really dropped the ball on explaining anything (as no descriptions are in the menu) and any water refills (had to ask after an hour). Likely wonât return until things...
Read moreThis was a last minute spur of the moment decision for my husband and me on a Friday night. We did had not heard anything about this place and just felt adventurous. The decor was nice, the room is VERY narrow, the menu is mostly cocktails and appetizers. We sat at the bar and I kept sliding off the chair, nothing for my feet to hold on to. (Iâm 5â9â) We had the deviled eggs (3 halfâs), sweet potato chips with hummus, and one beef skewer. I had two mixed drinks and my husband had two Michelob Lights (10 or 12 ounce). The total came to $78, with tip $93. The deviled eggs were meh, the chips and warm hummus dip good, the beef skewer was good but salty. I canât tell you what music was playing (barely audible). Overall not worth what we paid for. Would...
