Wanted to edit this because, while my situation wasn’t great that one time, their food is delicious and don’t want to bring down the restaurant as a whole for a one off failure of communication.
I’m sad to be writing this, but today may have to be my last day eating at LunaZul.
I ordered one of my go to, shredded chicken tacos. I did mistakenly say Tex Mex style at first but I did correct myself immediately and say Mexican Street style while ordering. I have been struggling with health issues regarding my stomach and bowels and cannot eat diary anymore as it causes severe pain and inflammation.
Originally, the tacos came out with the Tex Mex toppings with cheese. The server did realize it was wrong when she brought them out and I did apologize and request that yes please, Mexican Street style as Cheese upsets my stomach, clearly stating the cheese was the issue. I don’t blame the waitress for this at all! She was very helpful.
I trusted them as it did take a few minutes for the tacos to come back. On my third taco I realized that the toppings were just “scraped off” and I more than likely ate a known trigger food and now have serious pain to look forward to for the rest of the evening. I have included a photo of the last bit of taco and the cheese attached to the chicken.
This is very upsetting as my husband and I come in a lot and really do love this place, but I cannot trust them with my...
Read moreAVOID THIS RESTAURANT. NOT AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD. We had to ask multiple times to be served and all of the servers refused. Every single server saw us tonight and we never got greeted and finally decided to leave after 30 MINS. It was not even close to closing hours. All of the severs went in to the server area and talked about how they did not want to take our table and then preceded to greet the table next to us which was a 4 top that was sat after us. The brunette girl in the lime green shirt took them instead of us. I have never felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant in my entire life. Do not come here unless you want discriminatory service. I have been in the restaurant industry for over 10 years and I have not seen such blatant disregard for customers. The bartender, the older blonde lady, the girl in the lime green shirt , and the young brunette host all were extremely rude and avoided eye contact every time we tried to speak to them. You guys should be extremely embarrassed. Clearly the owner is terrible at customer service too. If you read through previous comments she blames the customers and tries to make excuses for her terrible attitude. God job driving customers away. I am positive we won’t be the last customers...
Read moreMy wife and I, and many of our friends, have been here multiple times since they opened and it was definitely good; but, it wasn’t really good. Most recently my wife and I got two orders of tacos, because that is a staple at any Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant and we hadn’t had them at Lunazul yet. So I got the carnitas tacos with cilantro and lime (authentic) wrapped in corn tortillas, and my wife got the beef crunchy tacos. The carnitas were dry and the corn tortillas were improperly cooked. My wife’s tacos were so bland that she would have rather had gotten them at the Hampstead Taco Bell. The staff did however give us a free serving of house guacamole since we had to wait 35 minutes for 6 tacos. Tacos were a 1/5 in every category.
I rate Lunazul 3/5 because of our most recent experience. We have had some good experiences here as well, just nothing that separates it from the rest of the Latino/Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurants. If you want incredible tacos, go to Del Huerto in Westminster. Hell if you want the best Mexican food/experience around the Westminster/Manchester/Hampstead area, just go to Del Huerto. Lunazul was good when it first opened, but since has...
