Diners are my favorite places to eat- and Fertitta’s is another reason why. It’s a whole in the wall diner with that old school diner feel, cozy and home-y! The staff is fantastic, and my service couldn’t have been better! You can tell the people really love what they do; the cook, Khyree was singing and just enjoying making the food. He brought out the Chefs Special, which was a breakfast burrito which has sausage, cheese, egg, pico, topped with guacamole, sour cream, & salsa, things seemed easily customizable. Having the ability to make simple substitutions or edits to our food is a big deal for me because I’m a picky eater. lol. But Khyrees food was top notch, and so was our server, Meesha!
The food is affordable, my husband and I both ate and had drinks for $40 (CASH ONLY). The Hungry Man meal came with 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, a 1/4 waffle, one pancake (I got chocolate chip and there is an extra fee to add toppings), toast, and the choice of home fries or grits, and a cup of coffee for 11.99! The portion size was good, and we left completely full!
Thank y’all for such a memorable experience, we...
Read moreWe’ve lived in the area for years and for some reason have never been here. We decided to try it out, and WOW! First off, we were in and out in about 30 mins (although our food came out HOT) and my husband and I LOVE that! We’re impatient and always wait until we’re starving to go eat. The servers all worked together and our drinks were never empty, plates were cleared off of our table as we went, food was SO good! My husband loved the French toast and I loved my breakfast! This is one of the only places I’ve ever been to that actually takes the time to make sure my bacon is crispy and eggs are well done - not runny. Everyone was so sweet and seemed happy to be there, they all worked as a team and as someone who has worked in many restaurants before, I appreciated that! It is tiny, I believe they only have 6-10 tables, but food comes out quick so I’m sure the wait will never be too long! I can’t wait to come back for amazing food and service!...
Read moreAs we were leaving the Virginia Beach area on a Thursday morning, we followed our habit of looking for a local dive for breakfast. Fertitta’s on Mercury Blvd in Hampton seemed like a good fit. It was a no frills diner in a strip mall, so we were optimistic.
As soon as we sat down , the smiling server was at our table. Drinks arrived quickly. After a brief explanation from our, my son and I ordered the Can You Handle “The Truth” breakfast—basically an all together combination of hash browns, bacon, sausage, gravy, cheese and an egg with toast. It is not an elegant looking breakfast, but we both enjoyed our meals. My wife ordered a Waffle. She thought it was a good waffle. I sampled a bite just because she was getting full and I don’t like to waste food.
The place stayed busy throughout our visit, so clearly they have a good local following. All in all, we really enjoyed our experience and would be inclined to dine again...
