Update I dined here for their second time and had a better experience! I wish I could remember the name of the server because he was truly amazing! He was very polite and attentive, and overall made the experience much better. This time, I ordered the catfish po-boy which was really good! I would definitely recommend this one with the fries. There were no issues with the machines when it was time for payment and it was a pretty smooth and seamless process. The music was also better!
I came across this restaurant on Google after searching for a place to go after church service. So once I found this location, I decided to take my family with me. When we first pulled up there was a sign on the door that stated the card machine was down so they accepted cash only. Fine no problem, went to an ATM and got cash out. Went into the establishment and it was kind of empty so we were seated immediately. We waited a while before someone even came to our table to just initially order drinks. I had to ask one of the waitresses there, who was not too friendly, to have someone to come to the table. So we finally got a waiter and he took our order. As we were sitting there, we were listening and noticed that the music was very inappropriate. They were playing extremely sexual songs. That was a bit much for it to be a Sunday early afternoon. I thought this would be more of a family establishment. Mind you it's children and elderly people and it's a regular Sunday. From the looks on the faces of those from the other table, when certain songs came on I can tell that they were a bit uncomfortable as my table was also. I had to ask them to change the music because it was extremely inappropriate and apparently they stated it was the manager's playlist. So that threw us all the way off! Now we didn't have to wait too long for the food and as you can see in the pictures it was an abundance. The food was amazing! The flavors were all there and the juicy sauce was amazing! My table ordered the catfish baskets and the flounder baskets, with a side of clam chowder soup, potatoes, and corn. Again, the food was amazing which was probably the best experience. I do think that they put an excessive amount of fries with the baskets though. So, I also have to point out that the service here is not so great. The waiter came to our table maybe three times during our visit. One was to take the initial order and then the other was for the check. There was maybe only one other time in between where he actually came to the table to check on us. But we still had to ask for refills rather than him coming to look at the table and noticing that we needed some. So that was quite disappointing. I would highly recommend that they work to improve customer service. If you have a table seated, you should periodically check up on them. Like I said earlier, the place was not packed at all so it was really no excuse to not be as attentive. Overall, if I were to return it would be for the food but I will most certainly not want to sit inside and dine in. It would have to be a to-go order! I highly recommend being mindful of the music as well as the customer service because the place...
Read moreOur experience started when we parked and got out. Trash covering the parking lot . When we entered we stood around for a few minutes waiting to be seated . When a woman showed up the welcoming was less than enthusiastic. We were seated . The first thing I noticed was that the paper on the table had some food residue and that the napkin container was completely empty. Everything on the table was covered in a greasy residue. I then went to the restroom to wash my hands. I was confused because if they had not been open long why was then the bathroom dirty? There were lights not working which gave it more of a hole in the wall bar feel. We ordered and was brought our bibs and 2 plastic forks and 1 nutcracker( I was confused because we both ordered the boil including crab legs) so we tried to figure out who was going to get it first and how we would end up sharing this one utensil. The food is delivered and it was hot and to my surprise we were then given two metal forks because we ordered the oysters ( apparently had we not order the oysters we would not receive metal utensils). After the food was dropped off to us we did not see a waitress until the end of the meal. She did not come back to check to see if everything was good. Service certainly lacking . There are only a few other patrons. The music was loud and the music choice was confusing. Gangster rap? I was glad that we did not bring our children to this concert. Definitely won't be back . A little more expectation from a business that we spent...
Read moreKnown best for the seafood boil bags. Those in our group who ordered those bags were satisfied. Other seafood is fried only, no baked, broiled, or blackened. Restaurant seems more oriented to take out than dine in. We had a large party and service was just ok, not great. We had to keep asking for drink refills, extra ketchup, lemons, silverware, napkins, etc. I noticed other diners with smaller groups were having the same problems. After a pretty good wait, all but 3 people in our party received their food. All was good and hot but the missing 3 dinners didn't arrive for another 15 minutes. One was apparently picked up and served to another table by mistake. The other two boil bags just were late coming with no explanation. Fried flounder was pretty good but a couple of our folks said theirs tasted fishy. All of those fried dinners came with an ample amount of fries but hush puppies had to be ordered separately. The Cajun fries were the best. Their clam chowder was ok but not worth the $5+ charged with few oysters and minimal potatoes. The Shrimp Fried rice came with only 5 small shrimp, leaving one in our party disappointed. Hip Hop and Rap music was played very loudly with some offensive lyrics making the atmosphere not too...
