LOST a good customer due to their RUDE and totally unprofessional behavior! We've been regular customers (orders typically $60+ almost weekly) since we moved here 3 years ago. A neighbor recommended Ricco's to us, and we fell in love with the food!
However, last night my husband called to place an order for delivery about an hour before closing. The man who answered the phone barked at him in a nasty tone saying that he should have called an hour ago. When my husband said there's nothing to indicate that on the menu, and the man got even nastier. My husband was so shocked by his behavior that he said we'd never order from them again, and hung up.
I'd like to note a few things. First, we've ordered at that time and even closer to closing without any issue. Second, we live very nearby and not in a bad neighborhood. Third, and most importantly, we are not unreasonable people! We understand that this is a small local restaurant that may not have the same resources that a chain would, and that from time to time there may be issues with driver availability or other problems a small business might encounter. Had we been spoken to with an ounce of civility, simply told that no driver was available or that there wasn't sufficient time to prepare an order or whatever the case may have been, we could have picked up the order or made other arrangements. No harm, no foul... we like to support small local businesses, and do understand that occasionally problems come up that are beyond control or not able to be remedied immediately. But there is simply NO EXCUSE for being treated so rudely! I've worked in customer service most of my life and would NEVER speak to/yell at a customer and treat them like we were treated.
To the owner(s) of Ricco's Pizza: Pay attention to your reviews - I had no idea until this point that there were so many similar experiences with your unacceptably poor customer service. Great food will not make up for lousy service! We threw away your menu, and not only have you lost us as customers, but you've lost our recommendation to everyone we encounter... so consider your loss far greater than the $200 per month or so that we bought. Word of mouth (and social media) can be your boon or your bane, and 1 angry customer can do more damage than 10 happy ones can make up for. Each and every customer is important, and great customer service is how you keep them coming back. Change your ways before you lose too many - the sooner the...
Read moreFirst I just want to say I don't normally make a complaint on social media unless it really needs to be out there. I apologize for the former owners since they sold the name of the business to the new ownership. Ricco's Pizza in Langley Square Shopping Center Hampton Va really has gone down hill. Today we decided we wanted subs for dinner. When I got them home it was all I could do. My husband looked at my sub and said "Where's the beef?" You can see in the pictures. Here is what we ordered and what was wrong. Pastrami & cheese large with everything and Jalapeños added Philly steak & cheese no tomato and lightly toasted. 1 ) No visible Jalapeños on his sub paid $1.00 extra 2) Tomatoes on the Philly steak & cheese no onions on sub 3) My sub was hard as a rock on the ends and visibly dark toast 4) Both subs "where's the meat"??? 5) Also, the prices have gone up. Understandable but prices up, quality and quantity WAY down. I called them and they are willing to remake the subs. My hubby was already eating but since I was on the phone, I had not started. Already shaking due to needing to eat. I said to remake mine but it is a bit of a distance to return in this heat. I return with pictures of both subs and my sub as requested. Owner was stating that it was lightly toasted. You be the judge on that one, but mind you I put the paper plate in a zip lock to transport back to them since the paper wrapping was thrown away. I get another sub at no charge replacing the one I returned. NOTHING else for my trouble, gas, and the heat. First 2 pictures are the original subs. Third picture is the sub remade. Again where's the meat? Ricco's I will not return and I will NOT refer anyone to your...
Read moreDecent food. Used to eat here often. However one of the gentleman there is one of the rudest people I’ve ever dealt with. The last three times we have ordered, all three times they managed to completely mess up our very simple order. The first two times we didn’t say anything writing it off as a mistake and things happen. The last time we called and spoke to the manager (maybe the owner) and he basically told us “too bad” and that we should have brought it back and gotten a refund. All we were trying to do was make him aware of this. The order they wrote down the was wrong on one of the subs, on the other it was written correctly and served wrong. He basically said “Then don’t order from here again.” My whole family has eaten here for quite some time. But recently friends of mine refuse to eat there due to the quality of the service. Now, we won’t either. People this poor at customer service or just basic human interaction shouldn’t be in any customer service driven profession. Anyways, thanks Ricco’s, The food flat isn’t good enough to compensate for that...
