An unexpected pleasant surprise! Driving to Grand Rapids we googled restaurants in the area and thought the name was intriguing so decided to give it a try. Atmosphere was typical smaller town downtown bar/restaurant but it was very clean and welcoming. Our server was efficient and friendly and did her job well. The food that came out of the tiniest of kitchens cooked by one woman doing it all was delicious! I got the special which was a rueben and fries. My husband ordered a chicken sandwich and fries. Food arrived quickly and was piping hot. Special note were the fries. They were delicious and in a shape I’d never had, think steak fries extra thin. Overall pleasant experience-give it a try.

This place has a reputation, for those of you who don't know what the bloated goat is let me explain. This is THE bar in the Fowlerville area. Known by locals, bikers, outsiders, everyone has a story about there time at The Bloated Goat. Yes there is an actual Goat head inside, no you cannot take it, many have tried all have failed! A decent selection of beer and liquor at reasonable prices. Food is ok but what you go to the Goat for is to drink. Parking on the street can be tricky, but don't give up, you'll find a spot eventually! Come see the Goat today!

Not sure if this waitress was mistaken or it's something new they are doing but I ordered an amaretto sour and she brought it in a shot glass. When I asked her about it she got defensive and was very adamant that is a rocks glass. Never have I gotten a mixed drink in a shot glass, well until now. Hopefully she was wrong and my next visit will be different because they do have great burgers.

So, we used to frequent the Bloated Goat often since the 90's. Totally loved it. We hadn't been in a while and apparently it is under new ownership now. We miss Gary. He is a great guy. Even ole Betty at the bar brought some laughter for us.

The beer was large and cold. The burgers were always consistent in taste and were the iconic menu item that was always ordered. The atmosphere was fun with many hours of pool games were played.

Well we went there last weekend. The staff was super friendly. Monica is the best. Paula was fantastic as well. The beers were nice and cold BUT...

The Goat burgers that we received are just not the same. The flavor/taste was just not there. The cooking method and recipe has drastically changed and resembles nothing like we used to love. I guess the secret wasn't passed on to the new owners.

We were so disappointed. We will ofcourse go there again for the drinks but no burgers for us. RIP old Goat Burger 😭 It is a shame the next generation will never know how awesome the true Goat...

Such an iconic bar in Fowlerville. I read the online reviews and they said the burgers were good. What a huge disappointment, terrible quality burger, frozen hamburger which was nasty. You can get a better quality burger from the freezer section at Walmart. No silverware on the table except for a plastic fork that broke. I will never step foot in the Bloated Goat, what a huge missed opportunity for a good bar / restaurant, no wonder business is so bad, just a bunch of regulars who like to sit at the bar and get drunk. If you want a good burger drive down the road to Wendy’s and grab a double, at least you know what to expect....
