My mom had these ladies make my sons cake last year and it was a hit. It was an amazing bus cake and great flavor. Unfortunately, I have been trying to get in touch with these ladies since the middle of January. I had my mom go into the business to see if they were open and accepting cake orders and she said it was a very uncomfortable experience. Apparently the girl just stared at her and was running behind with cookies. I need this cake for the middle of March, which is why ,apparently, she hasn't been getting in touch with me - she told my mom. I'm just not understanding why you can't take my cake order and be done with it instead of holding off on me. If she doesn't respond within the next week I am planning on going to another Bakery. I need to be able to get this order in knowing I will have a cake for this child's birthday. I also run a business and I understand how important it is to get back to people in a timely fashion. One or two weeks is totally understandable but we are now running on over a month.
Edit: upon making this review I received an email which started that shes sorry she hasn't gotten back to me in what I consider a timely fashion. The customer service is awful - you don't push blame to the customer and act like they're being unreasonable. It has been over a month! She went on to say she planned on getting back to me after valentines day and then gave me an absurd price for the product i requested. If you would clue me in on your plan - I would have waited patiently for your response. But to leave me hanging for weeks is not ok. Let me know you plan to get back to me after valentines day i would have! Except - I contacted the middle of January so I have no idea why I had to wait then.
I truly hope for their sake they can straighten up their customer service before it bites them in the butt. I can see im not the first person to...

Thank you for making our 40th surprise birthday party a smashing hit. Your custom cake and cupcakes were a show-stopper. *I ordered a Highland Cow 6” cake (peanut butter mousse with chocolate icing) and sixty plus highland cow cupcakes (yellow, chocolate and pumpkin flavors) to supplement.
The butter cream frosting had the perfect combination of flavor, smooth texture with just the right amount of sweet. The cake and cupcakes were fresh and moist (even after I had them in the refrigerator for an extended amount of time). The Cake Bar captured the perfect amount of frosting to cake ratio. Each treat was and simply scrumptious.
The cake and cupcakes were delicately decorated and exploding with “WOW”. Your skill, creativity and artistic talent are remarkable. Each cupcake and the cake were a work of art of their own.
From my initial inquiry, working through a concept and to final delivery, I was given a really personalized and professional service. I couldn’t be more impressed with the finished cake and cupcakes. Everyone loved them. The Cake bar is by far, comparable to none.
I will sing the praises of The Cake Bar to anyone with a five star +++ rating an recommend no others. Thank you for your incredible work.

Read moreI wish I had a picture of the hello kitty cake they made for my daughter’s 9th birthday party. It was perfect and tasted great! Plus, it was last minute. I had ordered a cake from someone months prior and they literally didn’t make it and were on vacation when I asked for the cake. I had less than a week to figure it out and my cousin recommended The Cake Bar. The people working were extremely friendly and helpful. They took my order, gave some ideas, and didn’t complain about the short time line. The price shocked me! I believe it was $50 for a large cake. I used to go to Stone House Bakery in Taneytown but the cakes would fall apart in shreds and the icing was used as a filler so no one could eat it because it was too sweet. I was paying $100+ for cakes that fed 22. The last time they charged me $165.00 for a 22 piece cake that I supplied the toppers and again, the cake fell apart and frosting was overbearing to the point no one could eat it. Then, they ask you to tip the counter person between 15%-35%. The only reason I kept going back was because I didn’t know where else to go that would create what I wanted. Thankfully, I have...
