It all started when I was 5, I took my first bite out a burger in America on 4th of July. I remember the soft buns and all the flavor which blew me away like a Tomahawk missile. I would stand there and watch the fireworks go off while chewing with my mouth open. The mayo and ketchup drop down and stain my shirt as my Labrador Retriever "Apollo" licked it off. I could say it tasted a lot like Freedom.
I never thought I would relive a moment like this again. An experience so unimaginable you can only experience it in real life. Slowly the flavors and experience would fade out into the abyss of my memory.
As I grew older I forgot all about the authentic taste of an American burger. I would just drive by past the burger joints after they have disappointed me; luring me in to eat their so called burgers. I'm not sure if I would feed a prisoner of war with that dog food.
Then a special day came about, one that had to be noted on the calendar. On a nice hot summer day after a days work in the sun digging trenches, I felt a rumble in my stomach. My friend invited me to go out to eat. I was hesitant to go eat at a fast food joint, but after all the nagging, I said "very well."
Here we roll up to a Carls Jr that was down the street of the Job site I working on. Stepping out of my Ol' American Diesel truck I could smell the grease and diesel mixing. I had a sudden tingle rush up my back. I knew this is going to be good.
We walked up to the door and the my last thought was "this better be good or else." My experience with burgers changed once I stepped inside Carls Jr for the first time. There was a lovely server standing there to take an order.
If I remember correctly, her name was Luiza, she had the greatest attitude with me and my bitter heart toward Fast food restaurants. With a smile on her face she took my order of a number 1 on the menu. With a lady like that I wouldn't be surprised if there would be a line out to the parking lot.
She got my order out as soon as possible. Brought it up to me, "here's your number one, enjoy." Those words are still ringing in my ears.
I opened up the bag and there it was. Looked just like the one I had when I was young chap. Biting into the sandwich was phenomenal. My friend asked me why I was tearing up, but I don't tear up; I was sweating from my eyes I told him. If I was there alone. I'd probably let them roll down though.
I just want to say thank you Luiza and the staff that made my experience at Carls Jr so awesome and memorable. I recommend this place to anyone to relive a...
Read moreBad experience this evening with a dinner order. Placed my order thru the drive thru. First- was handed the wrong order, drove off and realized the mistake a mile down the road. No worries, mistakes happen. Returned and was asked to park my car and someone would be out with the correct order.
Received my order got home opened the food bag to find a $15 meal that on a scale of 1-10 for quality, freshness and taste, was a 2 at best!!!
I have been in the food industry many many years (Management) this is the 3rd time I have had an issue with this store within a 3 week period! This is not a shift manager/leader issue.. this is a Corporate problem or if privately owned a direct problem with the franchisee.
Your shift managers or assistant managers and my impression of them are doing the best they can with the staff and leadership they are provided and is quite obvious. To Corporate or Franchisee, please start paying attention to your store and untrained staff that you have employed, your shift managers can only do so much and the same goes for your untrained staff!! Carl's Jr has always put out a decent product and is quite disappointing to see it begin to fail and now...
Read moreSunday 3.12.23 at 2:18PM I ordered a big carl, fries, chicken fillet and 2 waters. The cashier was new, and actually pretty pleasant. I thought the price seemed high and when the cashier brought the meal to our table, after looking at the receipt, we were charged for the waters $5.98. He said they charge for water. I said if I would have known that, I wouldn't have ordered them. He apologized. We ate the meal, certainly wasn't very good, the burger wasn't like the advertisement at all, the fries were tasteless and the chicken sandwich was OK from what my companion said. We left. Got to thinking about it overnight and decided to stop in before noon the next day, Monday, and ask a mgr if they charge for water. She looked at my receipt and said you came in yesterday, how do I know you got water and not beverages. I said OK, this will be the first and last time I go to a carls jr. She just smirked. Very professional..... The "team" needs to train new employees correctly and not think everyone is out to scam them. I do take blame as I should have said keep your food and water and give me my $24.05 back....
