I have a few words to say,
Libraries dear reader are for BOOKS, NOT to bring your badly raised child to, and for sitting them in front of a tablet, to slowly degrade their brain cells.
If your child is whining, and screaming, and complaining that they can't look at a screen in a Library then there is a problem...and it's NOT with the Library (or the Librarian) for that matter.
Your rude entitled behavior which I'm certian that you displayed to a public servant in front of your child at the Library, is the actual 'problem'.
For you to come on to google maps and to award minimal stars, as well as publicly complain with no personal accountability, and/or class about the library insulting your ignorance, well... I have no doubt that this was how that encounter unfolded.
This message is to the confused woman (Jamie Kranz) who is complaining here in the comment section, that she cant get a 'tablet' to occupy her child on at the LIBRARY.
Teach your kid to read an actual BOOK!
For the love of learning, be a better example.
Five ☆☆☆☆☆ and a warm "Thank You!" to all of the patient and undervalued librarians over time, who have had to endure the entitled community "Karen's", who cannot seem to comprehend how to read an actual book to their child in the Library without complaining.
Librarians witness some of the most atrocious entitled behavior from community members and non-community members alike, while working as public servants for us all on public property.
You should teach your child respect for them, and outwordly thank them for showing up everyday to continue to manage the wealth of information that is so graciously provided to you and your children.
How embarrassing for you to publicly complain, that you cannot get a tablet for your child to zone themselves out on at the Library, and then scold the Librarian for not bending to your every whim, and kissing your entitled derrière.
Those Librarians were far too nice to you. I would have handed you a DR Suess to start with, and told you this truth to your face... "Teach your child to excercise their mind and to READ a BOOK instead of sitting them in front of a screen as an excuse to be a lazy parent.", .. and that would have been the end of that. ♤
Do not be asinine in the public comment sections and expect to have support for your disrespectful and shameful behavior.
I do not work at the Library. I am a community member, and I value all of those who do the difficult jobs for the community everyday and receive little to no thanks for their contribution to society.
You would do well to...
Read moreIf you'd ever been to the old library in the strip mall next to the Clackamas Town Center than you know what an amazing improvement this new library is.
It is huge, beautiful, and staffed with friendly people. So why 4 stars not 5? Well the hours are rather short, only open 6 hours on Sundays, and sporadic, not open many mornings.
Only other complaint is it can be hard to get a computer on a busy day. It is rather frustrating to wait 20 minutes to print a return shipping label because every computer is being used. Especially frustrating when half of those computers are being used by teenagers to play online first person shooter video games. Otherwise a great example of what a good...
Read moreDO NOT GO TO THIS LIBRARY IF YOU NEED TO STUDY. I went in today to do some studying online for an exam I have the following day and it was by far the worst experience I’ve had in a library people are so loud & disrespectful and the people who work there do absolutely nothing about it, there are specific areas in the library that people can go to do activities with their children and they choose to “hangout” in the computer section where it’s meant for people who are either studying or using the computer this area is suppose to be a quite area & it’s so frustrating when people chose to be so careless and waltz in the library like they...
