Taqueria Corona — Restaurant in Harahan

First off I’d like to say read this whole review so on 3/19/2019 I brought my fiancé and daughter here to eat and before me and my daughter went in I got my fiancé to go in and ask if they can keep the shrimp and fish separate from other food because my fiancé is allergic to iodine.... well they told her oh yes we can definitely do that well we got in we ordered and my fiancé reminded them when the staff came to take our order that she can’t have the shrimp touching anything she’s eating and they said ok well our order come we eat and we pay and leave walking out the door I ask my fiancé how’s she’s feeling and she says her throat feels a little tight, So I start heading back to the west bank I get on clearview and she says that it’s getting hard to swallow so I ask her if she can make it to the Walgreens on the west bank expressway and she says she can try so I get on the Huey and she says it’s getting worse so I step on the gas get to the top of the bridge where a police officer pulls me over he comes to my car says he clocked me at 70 in a 50 and I say yes sir officer I was speeding I begin to tell him what’s going on and he says do u need an ambulance I look at my fiancé and she says no because by the time the time the ambulance gets here she could already be at Walgreens well needless to say the cop gives me a ticket I then get to Walgreens she takes Benadryl before even paying for it then she checks out and we head home on the way home I ask her how she’s feeling and she says she needs to go to the emergency room so I bring her they give her a steroid and some anxiety medicine and we went home...... I’m saying all of this because what if it was my 3 year old and wasn’t able to tell me, “ Daddy it’s hard for me to breath and swallow,”. Also so no one else has to go through what we did last night because we wouldn’t have had to if the staff would have been more honest and told us there’s no way for them to do that because of anyone has ever been in there to eat knows that they cook everything on the...

Man, I used to really like this location. However, when we went there, they did almost everything wrong.

Firstly, the ac was broken or wasn't working because it was so hot in there. We were starving and didn't feel like attempting to find some place else that would prolly be closed on a Sun evening, so we stayed. Big mistake.

Secondly, not sure the heat was the reason why service was slow/nonexistent, but we had to ask for everything. We guzzled our drinks before we got our chips and queso, but the servers ignored our empty glasses until we asked for our refills.

The food also wasn't as good as other locations. My friend commented that portions looked like half the size of the Severn location, as well as not being as tasty.

The only reason I didn't give them 1 star was because, despite all that, the food was still tastier than next door at Carretta's. And there was plenty of parking. And bathrooms were clean.

Nice and friendly. I love the char of the grill on the tacos, even if it is just a charred green onion. The fish and steak tacos were great. Crunchy batter on the fish and the red cabbage salad on top was fresh. I would recommend the green salsa on the tacos, its a bit on the tart side and compliments well. The pork taco was strangely on the sweet side, I do not know if that was the meat or one of the toppings. The only one I did not care for was the shrimp toco. Its grilled/blackened shrimp with pineapple (I believe). If they used fresh gulf shrimp, it would be 5 star all the way. But the shrimp has the pasty / gummy texture of frozen which was a little...
