The hostess was no where to be found. The cashier kept looking at me as if I were doing something wrong. Finally she got on the radio and said there's a customer at the hostess stand. A few minutes later the hostess came bouncing out of the kitchen eating something. I was the only person standing there and I said there you I've been waiting a while. Her response was how many in your party I just looked at her and she said one. Yes, there were 2 tables with guest sitting at them and she placed me right next to them. This section had many seat available, I asked could I sit at another table so I didn't have to listen to the parents scolding their children about playing and and fighting back and forth. she looked at me and said sure.So she moved me over one more table. It took a while for the waitress to come out of the kitchen ( that must be the place to be). Do you know what you want to drink, yes sweet tea please, do you know what you want to eat, may I see a menu please. She goes back into the kitchen comes out with an arm full of meals for another table with my tea glass tucked behind her arm and tosses a straw on the table and walks off to deliver the food. Walks past by me and goes to get a menu sits it down and says do you know what you want to eat, can you give me a minute please. She leaves takes more food out of the kitchen and delivers it. Do you know what you to eat or do you need another minute. Please give another minute, I was distracted by the male server with the blue hair with bangs down over his eyes that was playing poke me with the hostess as they wander back into the place to be, the kitchen. Waitress comes back have you decided and yes I'll have the Classic Sampler with chicken and dumplings and chicken and meatloaf. What 2 sides do you want? Fried okra and mashed potatoes with brown gravy please. She leaves and returns to the place to be. A little while later she comes out with the dinner stretched across her arms clutching to her chest. Puts it down is there anything else? Not right now thank you. The meat loaf was cold, the potatoes were cold and the fried okra, you guessed it, cold. Two other tables were seated next to me and the waitress ( Sandra J ) took their order and back to the kitchen and she came back and stood between my table and an empty table in front of me. My tea glass was empty so I placed it on the empty side of the table she looked at it and back to you know where. She came out with their food and glanced my way so I asked if I could get a refill. She took my glass left and came out with other tables dinner with my tea glass tucked between her arm and chest and then dropped it off to me and delivered the dinner to the other table. Back to the kitchen. the mashed potatoes had a small spoon of gravy on them, I was never asked if I wanted any condiments and then I asked for a small bowl of gravy to eat on my meatloaf. She did go get it and brought my check, I guess my time limit was up. I paid my check never asked how was my meal did I need anything. I said I was a reward member and was told to enter my phone number and answer a few questions. I did leave a tip although I debated on it but that isn't the way I was brought up. Overall Cracker Barrel is not what it used to be. I used to love going there and enjoy some comfort food but I was disappointed this time. I won't be returning to this Cracker Barrel in the future. I may or may not try any of them again. I'm truly sorry for that. Preston C. Cain It was my birthday and really disappointed 10.28 @ 8:14 PM Cracker...
Read moreMy family and I (Party of 9) visited Cracker Barrel on Sunday March 6, 2022. If you are black…..I strongly advise you to eat somewhere else. We arrived @ approximately 11:45am, checked in with the host who informed us the wait will be about an hour. She indicated that she would need to take our number and they would text us once the table is ready. I love Cracker Barrel pancakes, so the family and I headed outside to wait for our table. Once we noticed the time @ approximately 12:45pm, we walked back in and the host told us about 30 minutes. Now let me set the scene for you. Yes, it was Sunday and YES they were busy BUT they had more than enough tables and staff to accommodate our party. We were able to SEE all the space available. We spoke with the host about the space availability, she then proceeded to tell us she took our reservation incorrectly (for 2 people and not for 9) when we all walked in together. She attempted to make us very, very uncomfortable by offering us a table that can only seat 6 people but they are willing to ADD MORE CHAIRS!!!!!! I remained calm through this entire ordeal. We waited an additional 30 minutes. It is now approximately 1:30pm when we are seated. The waitress came over and took everyone’s order in about 5 minutes BUT it was after 2:15 and the waitress NEVER CAME BACK TO THE TABLE NOR DID WE EVER RECEIVE OUR FOOD. We paid for the drinks delivered to the table and left. As soon as we were walking out, staff from the kitchen----NOT THE WAITRESS came to apologize about our ordeal and told us the food was on its way out. By this time, I was livid. I told them to keep the food and we would find somewhere else to eat! Oh and I forgot to mention a white family of 12 was placed on the waiting list AFTER US and was seated BEFORE US. I will not spend my money EVER AGAIN with an organization that went out of their way to make my family and I feel “UNWANTED”. I reached out to via phone on Monday March 7th and spoke with the assistant manager who confirmed she was at the restaurant and she apologized over the phone (but not while we were in the restaurant). She then took my name, number and said to look forward for a call from the general manager---that NEVER HAPPENED!!!! BOTTOM LINE-----CRACKER BARREL LOCATED IN OKATIE, SC IS RACIST!!!!!!!!
Update: 6/14/2022---information was sent to Cracker Barrel as requested below. NEVER heard anything back from them! Such a...
Read moreI went to my local Cracker Barrel location in Bluffton South Carolina and after being seated my waitress came with a glass of water the first thing she asked what can she get for me to drink I ordered a coffee next she asked me if I needed more time or was I ready to order I ordered my meal and I ordered a side salad the coffee never came and the salad never came and I watched my waitress who was Caucasian proceeded to talk to every Caucasian customer around me without even coming back to check on me. I noticed I had my meal before my salad even came out she did not even remember who had the salad she went to every Caucasian customer their in her area asking them who had the salad one of her customers had to tell her that it was I who ordered the salad. I asked for some napkins she proceeded to talk to every customer that she had at the time never brought out the takeout box never brought my napkins but proceeded to stop and chit chat with everybody else never checking back to see what I wanted or if I needed anything so I said and I had to ask her for the check because she just kept walking past me. I never really complain but I told one of the other waitresses and she referred me to the manager of the floor whose name was Steve I told Steve what happened the only thing Steve said to me was oh I'm sorry about that and walked off.now I have been coming to this restaurant establishment for many years since it's been here I've never really had a bad experience here but this makes me not want to come back to cracker...
