The table top was wrong. After a 'fight', they agreed to replace the top. After another long wait, the new top was finally delivered and installed only to have have chips in the middle seam where you add the table leaves. It appears that someone tried to touched it up- but not to EA standards and certainly NOT to EA prices. We been customers for almost 30 years. The standards have declined. Who would deliver a table top w/ dings in it? (In all transparency-My bad that I didnt catch it- it was covered.) I am tired of the fight. Please have the service people come fix this. I pay a lot of money to go through this struggle!
Last year it was the $8000 rug that has little 'pulls'. We have no pets or little people. I have no other rugs in our home that have fibers sticking up like this one, nor did they cost this much. I was told to adjust my vaccume cleaner. It was not worth the price or dissappointment. :(
On the upside, the ladies in Oakie, SC store have been pofessional and collabrative. I have enjoyed working with them- especially Betty Swenson! She is a delight.
Followup at 3:11 pm: Since I cannot reply to the store, here is my reply. I did in fact get a call from Alica in the NC service center. I had been trying to reach someone as I was contacted by the repair business, but there was no reply when i returned the call and the voicemailbox was full. Alicia informed me that they will be contacting me. I look forward to resolving this. In 'transparency'- I see the squeeky wheel did get the oil today. Thank you, you earned more stars.
3:45 pm: I got a call from the furniture repair company and have an appt to have our dings repaired for MAY 20, 2022! Almost 2 more months to go and hopefully this tale of woe will be in my rearview mirror! (That did ot happen)
Tuesday: I received multiple calls and emails last Friday and yesterday from EA in NC and the service company. They state that they are getting emailâs from EA to contact me- that Iâm upset. No kidding, but I thought we had a plan to move this forward? Hopefully, they can move up my repair appt if they get an opening, but enough calls. Now Iâm spending time emailing and returning calls that we're set up for repair and I'm good with that - until weâre not. And you will know it. These ladies have done their jobs, and thoroughly. Please stop, unless you decide to do something about the 8k rug âpullsâ other than telling me to adjust my vacuum cleaner. đ¤
It's now end of June 2022- update: a couple weeks before my May 20th repair, EA calls me and says the wait is too long and they schedule me for another repair service to come on May 11. That guy shows up, takes on look and says the tabletop will have to be replaced- REALLY? They couldnt tell that from the pictures I sent in early March? I did not cancel the May 20th appt- just out of curiosity to see what would shake out- and that repair business called the day before to CANCEL and reschedule- they said they were "backed up." Now I am scheduled for a new table top delivery in mid- July. In all 'transparency' I requested that date as I left the area in early June to visit family and won't return until then. On a positive: Alicia in the NC service center could not be nicer or more professional. She really tried to make lemonade with the lemons and I very much appreciate her efforts. Ethan Allen, give that woman a raise! The new table top arrived in mid July and it...
Read moreI ordered a five piece Arcata leather sectional and am completely dissatisfied. Currently my sectional is less than a month old with the tags still on it.
The leather I selected was Nubuck. Parts of the sectional look like suede and some of it appears to be what I had selected, so it does have a grain, which is what I purchased, leather with grain.
When my husband and I sit on the sofa...imprints of where we sat last for days. To partially get rid of the imprints you physically need to take the cushions off the couch open the zippers and reach in to fluff and then massage the leather on the outside of the cushions. Some imprints I can't get out at all. This is causing the sofa to look very worn or something that I purchased at a second hand store.
All of the seat and back cushions have two seams of stitching. The seat cushion seams do do line up with the back seat cushions and the stitching on the chaise is crooked.
In addition, some of the cushions are two large for the frame which causes an overlap of cushions
Because of so many issues, I contacted the Sales Representative at Ethan Alan who was also the Store Manager two days after the sofa was delivered to let her know that I was completely disatisfied. I told her that I wanted to exchange the sofa for something else due to all the issues and that I would take a credit. She said that was not possible.
Well, as it goes, every complaint goes up the Management chain! After several phone conversations, I was told that I could return the sofa, however; there would be a 30% re-stocking fee! This fee would be close to $4,000! Seriously, this not acceptable to me.
Now, I have filed a complaint with the credit card company, as the purchase was completely paid for in that manner. Whatever it takes I will fight to get this sofa out of my home. This has been...
Read moreOur apologies to the Bluffton SC location, when we responded to the email asking if we wnated to leave a review, our review ended up on their webpage instead of the Mt Pleasant SC Webpage.
Weâre genuinely torn between giving a 1-star or a 4-star rating.
We purchased a living room, dining room, and bedroom set from Ethan Allen in Mt. Pleasant, SC, in March 2024. The furniture quality is nice but not excellent, as ...
ENTERTAINMENT CENTER ISSUE: The Sales Rep ordered the wrong center piece for our Villa entertainment center, which caused the three pieces to not line up - see photo. When the replacement arrived months later, the color didnât match - see photo. A second replacement was closer in color but still not ideal since the three pieces werenât stained together. We finally received that piece in March 2025.
DINING TABLE ISSUE: The dining table top arrived damaged. While they agreed to replace it, they mistakenly ordered the wrong tabletop, delaying the correct one until March 2025. The seams between the table and the leaves were much smoother on the damaged top than the replacement.
CUSTOMER SERVICE FRUSTRATION: The most frustrating part! Unless we reached out, we were left in the dark by both the sales representative and the store manager as to where things stood in getting the issues rectified. Given the amount we spent on three rooms of furniture, we had expected better communication and a stronger commitment to customer satisfaction. Also want to point out that this is the second home we furnished through Ethan Allen and the Mt Pleasant Store. Very disappointing!
Advice to Future Buyers:
If part of your set is damaged, reject the entire set. Matching materials and stains separately is nearly impossible.
Do not finalize payment or allow charges to go through until the correct furniture is...
