LARIAT COUNTRY KITCHEN — Restaurant in Hardin

This was a gem in a small town that you may pass by for a chain restaurant at another exit off 90W, but don't. It looks small, but trust me the food was one of our best as we travel from Illinois to Idaho. The food was made fresh and we all got different sandwiches. The roast beef was cooked just right on the french dip and grilled roast beef (not tough). The rueben had a lot of corn beef and wasn't soggy. We had pie that was homemade in the restaurant. Pros: fast service, friendly people, clean, few flies, good hashbrowns and pancakes, eggs cooked right, chicken fried steak good, everything well seasoned, good prices, coffee decent

Cons: pretty sure there's margarine and other seed oils in everything, charge more and offer butter and use other fats like tallow in the kitchen. offer half and half for coffee, only non dairy creamer was available. staff brought milk which was very nice. They are rude to anyone that comes from outside the community. Ine time i showed up one minute passed 11 and they told me i couldnt get breakfast and had to order a burger. I waited 30 mins for my burger while they brought out breakfast plate after breakfast plates to all the locals. Then when i asked if i could get breakfast since they are still cooking it the head waitress yelled at me in front of the entire restraunt. I wouldnt reccomend this...
