Loved it! Got the house special empanadas, three pulled pork tacos, and a shredded beef rice bowl. We asked for it without too much spice (we are wimpy!) and were advised perfectly. Everyone in the family loved all they ate! The fried sweet plantains that came with our food were a special delicious treat! Everything was fresh, tasty, and delicious. We especially appreciated the environmental packaging that was easily compostable. I am willing to pay a few extra dollars for details like that. Was it more than Taco Bell? Heck yes but the extra money was more than made up for by exceptional quality. Lovely young lady behind the counter went out of her way to confirm that I was not eating gluten as a choice, not because of Celiacâs disease to make sure I was safe I what I was eating. THANK YOU!
Overall: Absolutely try it, remember itâs a lunch place so donât gripe about it being closed for dinner, and enjoy lovely Mexican flavors without the added MSG of processed food. (I honestly think the people who are complaining about the flavors are used to non-fresh foods, jarred sauces, and powdered a sauces other places sneak in.)
Note to owners: Thank you and good luck! Also please consider free chips for an order over $20 and consider being open for take-out on Friday nights⌠it might well be worth your while once the word...
Read moreI saw raving reviews about the restaurant and decided to order and try the burrito bowls and empanadas .... ordered the steak with yellow rice bowl and the chicken with yellow rice bowl. Being that I've never tried the empanada ever the jerk chicken empanada caught my attention as I'm from the country where jerk seasoning was birthed I was curious to taste it. I got one jerk chicken and one beef empanada. I liked the mello flavor of the burrito bowl, it was good I enjoyed it. I did not like the teeny bowl that it came in. Portion size is not great at all. More like for a quick bite, not for when super hungry and I don't eat much. The steak portion was about the size of a tablespoon full. The jerk chicken empanada was extremely salty (chef's hand was a bit heavy with that batch) and this had no representation of how real jerk chicken should taste. The beef empanada was sort of alright. Didn't enjoy the empanadas and discarded the rest. The fried plantains was done just right to perfection. The greens were really good and the little condiments were good too. Improvement on portion size of the bowls and bigger container in getting to the food without it spilling out...
Read moreHORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!! Co worker bought food from here and the whole bottom of the bag came out making the food fall on the ground, called to see if they would help since the food was packaged horribly and the bag was saturated from grease. The little girl that answered was rude and nasty and actually laughing as I spoke to her. So unprofessional, then she calls me back and said the owner said if I bring the food back I can have new ones made. What???? You want me to bring the food that fell on the ground back???? Makes no sense. Please see picture for proof! You can see the trail of grease leading up to the bag ripping! Clearly not a customer error! What a shame bc I order my companies saturday lunch from here all the time which is almost $300... They will never serve us again! I can't believe a small business can afford to treat customers so badly. They must be doing great. DO NOT GO HERE!...
