El Charrito — Restaurant in Harlan

The server forgot, then remembered part of our order. The food is as expected, standard mexican/american fare.

That alone puts it in a standard Mexican restaurant category, but it was the bathroom was what deserved the low rating.

There is a literal wallpapering of boogers on the mens bathroom wall in front to the urinal. Not one or two like a customer could do, but hundreds, like an employee is one hand peeing and the other hand picking and smearing. I'll let you sort out how you feel about that.

I don't like leaving local restaurants bad ratings, but I hope someone reads this and chooses to take hygiene and sanitation a little more seriously in an establishment that...

Steak was extremely well done and flavorless after repeating three times to please cook it medium rare- the server kept saying medium well. Plates were set on table- he split before I could stop him. Fourteen minutes pass before he returns. It was not busy. The fish dish was mushy and bland. No salt or pepper on table, and no server to ask for it. He took my uneaten steak away. Everything about this place is amazing. The service is a step above any other Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. I'm a world of understaffing they have plenty and they're all working hard to serve you. We get seated, drinks, orders, drink refills very fast. The food has been outstanding. I would recommend the Molcajete or Dinner Special. The margs and beer come in 3 sizes and are good. We're in town for 5 days and we've been here 2 times because we fell in love with our first visit.
