Me and my boyfriend visited this coffee shop today and the second we pulled up we were immediately in awe of the property. We thought it was absolutely adorable that this old bank was repurposed into a coffee shop. We were excited to check it out! Upon walking in, the atmosphere was very open & airy. The color scheme, plants and decor were very trendy and seemed like high quality! We were greeted immediately by several employees. We took a second to review the menu which was very readable even for someone who's not super coffee-literate. The menu had a very short and concise description under every item. The prices were extremely reasonable. It was $11 for two 20oz drinks, which I think is fantastic. In between walking in and ordering though I started to notice my surroundings. In the corner, two gorgeous leather couches surrounded by plants and a few coffee tables. Along the front window, three tables with high chairs. Two high chairs right at the counter. Another slim longer table against the back window with 5 high chairs, and some merchandise off to the left. Oh and directly opposite the counter, two chairs and a side table. I, as a large person was immediately wondering where we would sit. Those high up chairs are really not big person, elderly person or really even just short person friendly. The chairs at the tables by the front window are those trendy chairs that just have a little tiny back part, so you'd have to be either sitting straight up or leaning forward, you couldn't lean back. Anyway, we sat on the couches which actually were extremely comfortable. Our drinks were absolutely marvelous. Perfect drinking temperature and everything. A few more people came in after us and we watched as a couple of people sat at the chairs by the front window for maybe 15 seconds and then they moved over to the table at the back window. At both tables they struggled to get up onto the chairs. And then maybe 15 minutes later, they got up to leave and both of them nearly fell getting down from those chairs. They laughed it off but they could've seriously gotten hurt if they hadn't been quick on their feet.
All of this to say, the atmosphere of this place is nice, the drinks are superb. But I really think if they want it to be a "lounge" as it says in the title. They're going to have to seriously put thought into changing up their furniture choices. It needs to be a place where there's big comfy chairs where you could get cozy and read a book with your coffee. Chairs that would be comfortable for anyone to sit in, and easy to get in/out or on/off of. Or as my boyfriend pointed out, there wasn't really a spot someone could comfortably bring a laptop and do some work or anything. My boyfriend specifically judges a coffee shop on the comfort, you know, "Could I sit here for a couple of hours on my off day and bring my laptop and buy multiple coffees and just hang out and feel comfortable?". Not to say he found it especially uncomfortable, but as we sat there talking, we definitely agreed that the space is more focused on the vibe, and not the accessibility. The rustic yet modern feel is very spot on, but upon really taking in your surroundings, you may end up feeling just a smidge disappointed.
At the end of the day I do absolutely recommend this coffee shop, again, the drinks were great. And that ultimately is the most important part. Check it out, judge it...
Read moreThis coffee shop has great coffee! I typically get decaf with a little oat milk. Great decaf is really, really hard to find and Gather Coffee shop has it! The baristas are really friendly, patient, and are willing to work with you with what they have if you have allergies.
I would highly recommend this as a place to gather & talk, the lou he is bright with natural lighting of big windows and lots of plants to give it a great feel. It's located in an old bank and on the first floor.
My favorite treat to get is the blueberry muffin top without the sugary glaze but instead request 2 butters. The mix of the sweet with the creamy salted butter is delicious! And yes, it's really butter...
Read moreI waited for 20 minutes before leaving the drive through to order, cash in hand, with only 2 cars ahead of me. And I had to leave empty-handed because I was going to be late for work, because I had waited TWENTY MINUTES to make an order, inside of my car.
The gas and time wasted, without even a coffee to try and justify that kind of service, leaves one feeling incredibly frustrated.
You’re losing a LOT of business with the state of your drive thru. Whatever needs to happen, please make it happen. There is no excuse for that kind of drive thru experience.
Edit: I wouldn’t normally post this kind of review, but I’ve experienced this multiple times. Today just takes...
