Od's Fish House — Restaurant in Harrisburg

If I could give this establishment more than 5 stars- I would!!! We were in town visiting a relative at a nearby hospital and looking to get something to eat. We weren’t sure where to go, but we knew we wanted fish. We found this place after a quick Google search and decided to try it out. WHAT A GEM!! As soon we walked up- the smell hit us! My goodness- if you know you know! The customer service & hospitality was AMAZING! This is how you run a business ppl! The owner was friendly and accommodating. He could tell we were from out of town and took the time to show us the menu items as well as letting us sample majority of the sides! I tried some Mac, green beans, collards & cabbage and potato salad! The flavors satisfied my taste buds! We ordered the haddock and whiting. Along with that we got the fresh cut fries, hush puppies, potato salad and cornbread. Everything was fresh and made to order!! DELICIOUS!!! The desserts were homemade. Sweet potato pie, red velvet, hummingbird, coconut cakes and a variety of pound cakes! As our orders were prepared, the owner and hostess engaged in conversation and made us feel so welcome. This is the type of service we long and live for! I wish they were in Jersey! OD’s has a customer for life! If I am in the area I will return. If you are ever in the Harrisburg area- don’t even think about going anywhere else…..THIS IS IT!!! You will not be...

If I could just say WOW! That would not even be close to how great this place is. From my first step in the door the owner greeted me, told him I was a first timer and he immediately offered a sample of all the sides! Greens, sweet potato, Mac and cheese, potato salad, seafood salad, green beans!! Every single side was phenomenally prepared, those Greens!! Lord have mercy!!! Then he showed me the different fish, explained they are fresh daily. I got a massive lump crab cake, I don’t think it had any filler, all crab, excellent! Two! Whiting fish fillets, they were huge, for the price I paid I would have been happy with one fillet. The desserts, all home made, so many to choose from, I was going carrot and a local told me to try another and she was spot on, don’t recall the name but it had bananas and pineapple, the frosting! So good, the slice of cake must have weighed a pound, so dense. I’ve eaten around the world and this little place is some of the best food I’ve had anywhere. The best part, the owner, he’s a great human, loves what he does, loves showing you what is what and just a genuine awesome person. We need ore places like this! I’ll probably eat here all 3 days...

A Friend Of Mine Introduced Me To Od’s Fish House In 2018 & I Did Not Like Fish Back Then But We Asked A Lady Who Worked There What She Recommended & She Said “Swai Fried Hard” So We Tried That. I’ve Been Hooked On It Ever Since. I Think I Went Back Like Once A Week After Discovering It. The Food Is So Delicious!

I Relocated Closer To Philly In 2020 So I’ve Been Out Of The Area For A While But I’m Visiting For The First Time & I Had To Make A Stop Here. The Menu I Attached To This Review Is Actually Posted On My Bedroom Closet At My Parents House & Has Been For The Past 3 Years LOL That’s How Much I Love This Place.

I Always Get Swai Fried Hard, Mac & Cheese, Cabbage & Greens & Occasionally I Get The Seafood Salad, Yams, Potato Salad & Banana Budding Depending On My Craving. I Intend On Trying Everything On The Menu Though. Harrisburg Doesn’t Have Much But It Has Od’s & I’m So Happy !! This Is Better Than A Lot Of The Soul Food I’ve Tried In Philly, I’ll Always Be Back For It.

The Food Is Amazing, The Service Is Fast, They Are Very Nice & Welcoming, It’s A Chill Environment & There’s No Awkward Small Talk - It’s Always Like Getting Together...
