Mr. J's Bagels & Deli III — Restaurant in Harrisonburg

Wow. I am still in shock with my AWFUL experience at this location this morning. I am a frequent visitor of this Mr. Js Bagles location, typically 1-2 times a week, and am usually very satisfied with my service. This morning was a completely different story. I work very close to this location and many times myself and my coworkers call in an order (typically 3 separate ones) and send one of us to go pick it up. Never has this ever been a problem, until now. Upon walking in, I was very coldly greeted by the cashier who was RUDE. I told her I had a to go order and told her my name, she rolled her eyes and said "one of those" and went back to the kitchen to retrieve it. When ringing it up, I told her again about the 3 separate orders. She rung one of them up and I paid for that one, then she put the other two together which was no big deal. After checking my order, I informed her that we were missing an order of homefries and a coffee. She rolled her eyes, said "well that's not my problem" and then proceeded to walk away. I waited up front until she came back, she then huffed and puffed about having to correct my order. She was by far one of the rudest people I have dealt with when it comes to food service. I am saddened to say that I will not be going back to this location for quite sometime. I would rather drive the extra few miles to the Harmony Square location than be treated like this by an...

This has been my favorite breakfast place for over 20 years. I was so regular for years that when we called they knew my order. However a few years back they changed their bacon. It didn’t taste the same nor was it cooked like the previous bacon. Just wasn’t as crispy and It just tastes different. This caused me to cut way back on how much I had breakfast here. But I’d just request they cook the bacon extra crispy. Still just wasn’t the same I ordered about 6-12 months ago and now they appear to not use fresh eggs on their bagel sandwiches. It appears to be carton eggs. Regardless it’s not the same fried egg that made their bagels delicious.

So I’m left disappointed. I wish they’d go back to their roots when making breakfast sandwiches. I’m sure it’s in an effort to keep cost down but I’d gladly pay more vs. ruin what used to be a...

This is the second bad experience we've had in the last week. The first time, my partner went in to order me a plain bagel and was met with attitude. The bagel I received was a different flavor. Today we did an online order and must have clicked on the wrong restaurant. Our mistake! However the Virginia Ave sent him to the East Market Street location. Once he got there he was sent to the South High location. The staff is not only rude but unknowledgeable on which location is where.
